Looking sharp Will
Thanks guys

Digging in tonight!!!
Change of plans for me,my daughter has laid claim to the AS-90 so I’m currently looking for another project for this GB.
I’m currently favouring one of Tamiya’s Russian SU’s but I’ll see what I can find at the LHS later this week.
[censored] Ejector pin marks… 1st time with Trumpeter, good detail but lots of pin marks. I’m not use to the density of the styrene yet, so I’m scrapping a bit too much for those marks. Kit looks great so far. Following my references, the idler wheel need to have big holes drilled… nothing really serious though
I finally dug the Tamiya Sturmtiger out of my stash today and looked the kit over. Its easy to see what the most time is going to be spent on , the track links ! The kit calls for 100 links per side and there are 4 ejector pin marks per link .[:O] Thats a total of 800 ejector pin marks to sand out .[:(] I’m thinking that i will work on the tracks first and get them done and out of the way . Then the rest of the build should be more fun .[:D]
Just muddy up the tracks and problem solved! [;)] [(-D]
[#ditto], thats what I did with my 1/72 Elephant Individual link tracks.

A good idea espins but i’ve never been good at doing mud . I’ll just clean up a few every night . If i do to many i’ll probably start making funny noises down in my basement and scare my wifey thats upstairs , then she’ll lock the basement door on me ! [(-D]
I noticed that there is no riflleing inside the motar barrel of the kit . I’ll have to find a method to replicate it .Its a large bore and the lack of rifleing would be noticeable .
I have the Eduard Etch for the interior, and it’s well depicted. But I’m sure it can be done by cuting thin stips of aluminum foil. Here’s a reference for you
Great pic Gun!

The only Definate use of the weapon on the DUKW used in the primaty inderect fire role was by the USMC on Tarawa,Iwo Jima and Okinawa in fact during a period of heavy rains the “DUCK GUN” was the only artillery able to be moved as the rains turned the roadways on the island into quagmires.I have not been ablet to find any info on the fire role the weapon in the ETO other than it was an important part of the Normandy landings and the Rhine crossings
Thanks Gun . I hope Eduards etched rifleing is better than what came with my old Verlinden Sturmtiger conversion . I fiddled with that thing and finally gave up . I just couldnt get it to roll up nice and round to were it would fit correctly inside the bore . I finally gave up and cut strips of masking tape and ca glued it in place .Think i’ll look at your aluminum foil idea for this tamiya kit this time .

Still trying to find a kit, if I can’t get the Italeri Priest for a decent price, I’ll grab a Tamiya Wespe.

Nope it’s a Maquette unfortunatly but I’v always wanted to build one so bought it.
I suppose I’ll be busy with the flash and sink marks but nevermind.
