That’s a nice little gem of a kit. Well detail and good fit. Have you noticed the gun serial number on the breech ring? My jaw dropped when I noticed it.
I’ll hit the hobby store this week and see what I can find. I’d really like to do a1/35 M7 Priest. Is the old Italeri kit the only option available? [?]
Will, even though I have quite a few going on… the time limit is good. Put me down for Revell’s 1/35 PzH-2000. I saw this in an episode of “Future Weapons” on the Military Channel and it looks pretty cool.
I take all my badges, standardize the image to 120x90 pixels, then use a GIF animation program and run them in 10 frame transitions at .05 sec per frame with a 1 sec frame for each badge.
Took a while to get it straight, and it’s starting to be a rather large file, so I may end up using the single badge, just optimized for web viewing.
This sounds interesting . I’ve never participated in a GB before . I was curriouse if the Sturmtiger assault mortar would qualify ? If not thats fine . I’m sure i have a kit of a self propelled howitzer in my stash. [:)]
Edit , oops , i see its self propelled artillery .
I don’t know, what sort of ranges was the Sturmtiger used at, and did it get given co-ordinates to fire at for the troops, or did it advance with the troops?
The range for the Sturmtiger was about 4,600m… I would say that it might qualify. It used rocket assisted ammunition. And it not really a mortar, as these are usually smooth bored. The sturmtiger had a rifling to impregnate a rotating movement to the projectile to stabilise it and give it more range… and also used indirect fire… a bit like a artillerie piece…
I just wondered if the Selbstfahrlafette Sturer Emil would qualify?
I’m not up to speed with German WW2 armour but really fancy building one of these as they are on offer at my LHS and this GB would be a good excuse to buy one.[:D]
It qualifies as a heavy panzerjager… tank destroyer… not a self propelled howitzer. You should still get it though, as it is a good subject. I got mine in the stash and it looks big!!! Just waiting for free time to buid it. Yann did one not long ago, and it looked awesome!
Ok, I changed the name, and you can use the Sturmtiger because mortars are really just miniture artillery pieces, but keeping with the theme, it still has to be SP (Mortar carrying tanks, half-tracks, etc.). However, If a few people say the Sturmtiger shouldn’t be there, I’ll go with that, although I’ll keep the mortar thing. Comet - No, you can’t use the whateveritis, because it is a TD as Gun Tech said.
