Reasons to smile

A funny conversation one of my friends had about models

“I love model kits! I have a few but I haven’t gotten around to building them. Partly because they’re in Belgium. I have an Apache helicopter and Bismark battleship :D”

"Wdym by partly?? :sob: "

“No, cuz I could telepathically build them. But it’s kinda hard. Hence partly.”

Haha…well I still think like a kid despite being three years from retirement. I run a D&D club for about 30 kids after school four days a week…and still love to fire up my laptop or PS4 for games. Definitely have spread my hobbies around…

My reasons to smile are my twin boys. Just the other day they had all their hot wheels cars lined up in a row…

“Dad, come look at our cars”

As I went over, I started to reach out to pick one up to look closer….

“DON’T TOUCH THEM!!” They both yelled in unison, “they are our models, you can’t touch them”

I wonder where they may have heard that before😂

I will try and not focus on the negative parts of my day

I had a seminar in government class, and I think I did okay.

One class, one day at a time, @Comrade_Shmersky! Don’t wish for it to pass too quickly.

The single comic I subscribe to (Skybound Transformers…!) has arrived at the local game/hobby/comic store. Gonna load the dog into the truck and head over there this morning. Always a highlight of the month – the folks at the store love the dog, the dog loves them (well, everyone), and I get to peruse the paints and kits.

Some classes (science and math especially) I just want to end :slightly_frowning_face: my teachers aren’t too good.
Besides, I have a day off tomorrow! Nothing better than a day off…
I am in Japanese class right now, which is a reason to smile because it is my favorite class!

Only reason to smile today (and tomorrow) is the weather.
Feels like 60-65 today. Sunny and a slight wind too.
Tomorrow will be better with a high in the low 70’s.

I saw “Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack” (Kido Senshi Gandamu: Gyakushu no Char) last night at one of those theaters with overpowered audio with a friend. Even though I had the DVD for over 20 years, it was enjoyable seeing it on the big screen.

Plus a box of Gundam kits is arriving today!

Comrade Shmersky,

I wish you the best in your Japanese studies. I squandered 9 years of J-School and regretted it dearly when I started traveling to Japan and buying Japanese model mags and videos. If I had focused and actually tried to become proficient it would have been so useful!

I haven’t watched that movie since I was probably seventeen or eighteen.

Yeah, I saw it on video cassette back around 1990 or so. Me and my friends referred to it as “Kido Senshi Gandamu: Something-Something no Char!”

It was sunny and warm(60 degrees) and I got the grill fired up for steaks for dinner and my “Ship Modelers Handbook” came in the mail today.

A reason to smile ? Besides having a loving wife and a dept free car and home, I have the good fortune of having Dora . A very unhappy dog wearing her rain coat when the weather demands it. A miniature Germain pincher, she has brought so much happiness to our home. We adopted her from the Jerome Dog Shelter after some years of neglect and abuse from her former owners, because she has epilepsy and needs constant medical treatment. Inspite of her condition, Dora always exhibits so much joy and happiness around us and demands that we share her contented life. We love her dearly
Happy Modeling Crackers.

Thai food… boom! Wife and I picked up a bit of Thai food and boo ya!

Got Thai food on Tuesday Panang Curry to be exact. Asked for Thai hot and it was an okay spicy just not the amount of heat I’m used to eating nowadays.

My sister-in-law who has been battling cancer since the Fall, found out that after countless rounds of chemo & radiation, she is now 100% leukemia free!!
