@MR_TOM_SCHRY I think I’m going to be the same way. I have 2 of these matts (P-47 and Spitfire), but thus far I have set them to the side of my work bench where I’ve placed tools on them but haven’t actually used them for cutting anything. I’m still using my old plain-jane matt for that.
Yeah, those mats are so nice they should be hung up in your work room as art work. Have you seen the bright orange work mat that’s currently sold at Hobby Lobby? I’m not sure if it’s “self Healing” but it looks like it could be useful for less than $20.
This arrived from Australia today,I built a Tamiya/Italieri version for my friend’s son,I wanted my own,so I ordered this.
MiniBrass Hull Plating AM kit for 1/200 Titanic arrived today, from France. I’m assuming the bends are from rough handling during shipping. Thankfully, none of the parts are damaged that I can see.
Cheers,
Mark
MisterMeester, that’s a lot of PE! Your Titanic is going to look amazing when it’s completed.
Those mats look gorgeous! I’ve been eyeing up the Panzer one for a while, may need to be a future purchase of mine.
That’s a great find!!
Wow! What a deal A 6$ profipack hellcat…
I did the squadron/encore release of this kit. Nice model.
@keavdog do you have pics posted on here? Can you share the link?
@dadoffour not sure I did a build thread. Here’s a couple finished shots
Great job! I hope mine turns out as good!
My wife loves flea markets. Every year during the holidays, there’s a huge flea market here in Louisville. Usually a 3 to 4 day event at the convention center. The vendors never disappoint when it comes to model kits.
That is an amazing price. Congratulations on finding it.
dadoffour, that’s a “steal” for that kit! Congrats on a great find.
$6!? Wow, you need to run out and grab a lottery ticket!
Got this book yesterday. It is chock full of some great looking builds. I have already picked up a tip just from a quick perusal on painting stripes on bombs/HVARs - chock that into your Dremel and manually spin it around the brush.
I’ve been eyeballing that book. Disappointed that I can find it in the US for 2x what I can find it for in the EU, but … shipping, tariffs, etc. I may have to pull the trigger if you’re recommending it!
Looks like a good book, but I haven’t dug into it that deeply yet. I got it on eBay from a guy that runs a shop in Kyle, Texas (outside of Austin). He apparently sells some of his stuff on eBay as well.
