Some pickups for future projects
Those are awesome kits. My two favorites would be the Huey, and the A-10.
WOW Scalemodeler66, talk about Christmas in May! That Revell Meteor has my attention.
I took all of my birthday and Christmas gift cards and went wild
I will do a WiP when it comes time to build the research vessel.
I definitely have to agree with you on the A-10. One of my favorite aircrafts. 0ne man wrecking machine
Thanks Scalemodeler66. I look forward to your build of this ship.
Man o man TJ! I’ve been eye balling both of those kits. Nice you got the Dave with the rigging. Can you tell me what kit number that is?
52368 got it from Amazon
I agree with keavdog TJ, those are two awesome kits. Wasn’t the “Pete” by Tamiya in 1/50th scale? Whenever I see a biplane seaplane I think of that old movie “Murphy’s War”
Was that when Peter O"Toole sank the German submarine by dropping a torpedo on it using an old barge.
He flew a Duck
Thanks keavdog. I never realized that it was a Grumman Duck that was in “Murphy’s War.”
As soon as I’m able to finish the Shuttle, this one’s moving to the very front of the line. I was originally going to do it in the Lonestar gunfighters paint scheme. Up until about two hours ago, I did not know that there was a decal set for the 50th anniversary of the Wild Weasels. I chose to do the latter scheme. I’m pretty stoked!!!
This is the Tamiya 1/48 kit that I did about a decade ago. I saw the decal sheet in an email from a decal mfgr based out of Austin. That kicked off a flurry of Texas-based aircraft (I’m a native who has lived here my entire life) - an F-101 Voodoo, George W. Bush’s F-102, and one or two more.
That is a killer build. I must say they are the most colorful paint schemes I’ve ever seen on fighter jets. Texas, where things are bigger and better. Cool story.
Nice! I love the 16s. That was the first toy plane I ever owned. I’m also planning on doing a Wild-Weasel inspired build! It’s more of a Macross thing rather than an actual aircraft, but I’m hoping to do a Vietnam F-4 paint scheme.
I have the Tamiya F-16 Block 25/32 in my stash. Still trying to figure out how I want to model it. That decal set looks way cool. I may have to look into it. The other one I really like is the venom look.
Not as flamboyant as some but I did these two,one is an Indiana ANG bird, and a Belgian D-Day commemrative
If there was EVER a paint scheme to grab peoples attention, it’s definitely that one. The demo teams always have the cool ones.
