Nice display,and some nice work
That much is certain.
I sense a theme with your builds… LOL…
Nice setup! Thanks for adding it to the thread.
Looks like you’ve got room for a couple more Enterprises there on the right… ![]()
Your modeling display is…
Most Logical.
A real Futurist! Welcome!
For a while after finishing my models and dioramas I would cover them with clear plastic. But lately I’ve bought acrylic covers to keep the dust off of them and it makes for more enjoyable viewing.
And it keeps inquisitive fingers away too
Unfortuneately, I live in a small apartment and there’s little or no room to display models openly on a shelf or in a cabinet.
Everything I have is packed up in plastic storage tubs never to see the light of day unless I take the models to a future contest.
I don’t display my models. After completion, I photograph them and then store in boxes. Some models fit in the original box, like the Z-M F-4E )Early). Most don’t like the Kinetic F-18D. I then build a box from 3/16" thick foam core board. Six simple rectangles held together with tape and white glue. Also a few strategically placed bumpers to limit movement.
Not completed, but this is where my 1/100 scale Gneisenau lives, under a workbench with a happy little fjord painted in the background ![]()
That looks amazing. I wish I had the space for something like that.
That’s a great idea with the individual cases after spending that much time and effort on those. Manuel. Some good-looking builds too!

[/quote]Man that is crazy cool!!
Don’t most contests require submissions to be recent builds?
@Edbert
Not necessarily. I’ve never had problems for example taking 5 year old finished models to a contest.
I have no room ![]()
My only finished model is sitting dejectedly in my basement. My bookshelves and even my floor are a bit of a mess sometimes, so someday I will have to bite the bullet and get rid of some of my junk
Most of my models collect dust on this bookshelf behind my desk in the basement after they’re done.
I have some more room on top of my desk area for a couple of special models.
My other models are displayed in my kids’ rooms since they requested that I make them for them.
Lots of nice displays here.
Mine are scattered around my house. Aircraft 1/48 and smaller in a glass curio cabinet, others are on random shelves, many hang from walls like wall art, while others hang from the ceiling in my work shop (third bay of my garage).
My wife and daughter’s stuff is starting to encroach into some of my previously claimed display areas. I haven’t decided where the big Hellcat will live just yet, but for now is sitting atop my plexiglass football helmet case. In some of the workshop shots, you might spot my 3 paint mules (32nd scale Revell Thunderbolt and Mustang, and 21st Century Toys Folgore). The big Heinkel was actually my wife’s idea. That is a guest bathroom where I have honored my mother by putting up all of the pictures and plaques she acquired while visiting France on a couple of occasions (she had these up in her own bathroom for years). My wife thought it would be humorous to add a Nazi bomber to all that French stuff.
The big white shelves have a bunch of my scifi/fantasy figures on them (as well as the old 18" Alien and Godzilla figures) and my daughter’s American Girls. Might be hard to spot, but on the shelf just above the rocking chair are all of my armor and car kits.
aggieman, those are some impressive builds that you have “hanging around!” From the looks of it you’ve been very busy.
