Anyone else here a plane spotter?

That’s awesome! That reminds me of what happened during my AP US History exam a couple years ago. There was an F-35 that was doing some training, and it was super loud and distracting, but as a nerd it was absolutely glorious. Needless to say I got so distracted I barely finished my DBQ.

You’ll have no problem seeing the MD-11’s. You’ve got a chance of seeing an 8-F. The flights at night out of the south are lined up tightly in the sky’s over our house at night.

stikpusher, I love that photo of the yellow Beechcraft Staggerwing. Such a classy looking plane for its time.

Right?! It is a beautiful design! One of the best looking biplanes ever to my eye. That guy used to fly around where I lived on weekends about 12- 15 years ago. I wouldn’t mind building the old AMT 1/48 kit of one… in military colors of course

Didn’t Roden make two 1/48 scale Staggerwing kits, one military and one civilian?

I had no idea, so I checked Scalemates. Apparently Roden made four different kits of the Staggerwing in 1/48…

You can add me to the plane spotter list. I’m always looking up. I have hundreds of pics from multiple air museums I’ve been to also. Will post some interesting ones later.

stikpusher, I’m amazed that Roden made some many kits of the Staggerwing. Any plans on getting one?

That’s pretty cool! I usually only see trainers
Oh shoot I have APUSH next year

I like the Tiger and the Beechcraft! Well, they’re all cool and in very nice condition.

The Twin Mustang is the only flyable one in the world

Thanks for posting these. The A-4, and F-8 are my favorites. Do you know if the F-8 is permanently parked out? The reason I ask is it’s in fantastic shape.

Now that I know about them, I just might…:wink:

Not sure. I’ve been there twice and the layout was different both times. I think they are also building another hanger. If I lived closer I would volunteer there in a heartbeat.

Huge Avgeek here! Based out of MSP

Nice! I’m missing and MD-11 from my collection. Really like the modern FedEx scheme. I did a little ATR 42-500 in that scheme.

I’m heading on a trip and will be hitting SJC, LAS, BUF, SDF, BNA, DEN, and PHX all in the next week! And also the USAF museum and Wright Patterson! I’ll be sure to post pics!

I’m taking my T1i & my 60D. Haven’t gotten too much time to mess with the 60D, but it seems pretty similar to the D750.

Nice! What do you shoot with?
