♠ Allied Aces GB (WW1 -WW2) April 2006 Start - Sept 2006 Finish

Jay I know what you mean it’s the 1st here today but I won’t be able to start for a little while yet. I’m still waiting on the Eduard PE set for my P-47 before I can do anything much at all.

At least I should be able to give the wheel wells a spray while I’m waiting.

Cheers

STILL waiting on the postal service if the kit doesn’t show in 2 weeks I’ll look for something else to build[:(]

Freakin Stupid IT guys, the company web securities firewall has just now decided to block Photobucket! Now I cn’t see my pics and for some reason it even blocks the [ing] tags! so I can’t even see what people using photobucket post. ppppbbbbffftt![:(!] I hope they don’t block FSM.

Oh those rotten bast@#$s! I got a call early this week from our systems admin. Not about FSM but about my teams list serve. I had to drop it, no biggie as today is official retirement day (torn rotator cuff, 19 years is enough)

Well, got my build done. How the rest of y’all coming along ?

Just kidding, it being April Fools Day here [:D]. The Stang was built for a GB on another Forum, but it is in Eagleston’s markings. I’m doing his P-47D for this GB & thought it would be interesting to have a model of both of his mounts.

Regards, Rick

Wow nice build Rick [tup][tup]. What did you use for the BMF and whose decals did you use bucause they look great.

Cheers

Chris My bad mate[], things have been a little hectic here and i’ve only just managed to post your kit so don’t go looking for another because you will have it in a couple of weeks…BTW i had to have a little look at it and i think your gonna like the kit, typical accurate minituares quality, sorry it’s taken so long to get it on the move…

Rick That is one stunning looking Mustang, very nice indeed[tup][tup][tup]

Darren, Jules, Thanks guys.

Darren, it’s the Hasegawa 1/48 kit, the NMF is all Alclad2 & the decals are from Cutting Edge.

Regards, Rick

NP Jules I thought the postal services lost it and thats why i was going to look for another kit[:D]

I’m in. Not sure with what yet. Let me check the hobby shop tomorrow.

Thanks,

Doug

Okay Doug, let me know and I add you to the front page. I haven’t had any chance to pull out the Spiifire myself, still trying to get the Doras off the bench.

I’m just about through with my Wildcat for another GB. I may go ahead and pull out the cockpit of my P-51 for this GB and start on it soon anyway, though. When I get to the point of painting, I’m going to have a bunch of questions for you Alcad people. I’ve never used it before so I’ll need some help.

I have broken the seal on the Tamiya Mustang. Should start on the pit tonight. I also checked out the Loon models fuselage. Real nice quality, should be pretty interesting, never done a conversion before.

My son (Trmn8tor) is moving along quite nicely, we may be finsihed by the end of the week.

Ditto what Tryingtomodel said, I’m going to finish up my Wildcat for the carrier group build this week, and hope to begin R.T. Smith’s P-40B this weekend. This will be my first attempt at a resin cockpit, so looking forward to learning to work with resin. Hopefully the learning curve isn’t too steep! [(-D]

Man I am right there with you…I understand it is not too steep, just very slippery!

LOL That’s what I’m afraid of… [:O] [(-D]

Working with Resin is just like working with Plastic, only different [:D].

Regards, Rick

Scott, I just started with Resin a few models ago, so far just little stuff like wheels on one, seats on a couple others, radial engine on another, I have yet to try a cockpit set like the airies or such. Remember that you must use superglue! And washing the part is good to get rid of the mold release agents or else the paint doesn’t adhere to the piece and looks funny.[:)]

Guys, I think I’m on that slippery slope![}:)] I got my fist bit of photoetched for the Bf-110 I’m doing for the BoB GB and I’m afraid of what is happening to me! Someone told me last year when I first got back in that it starts small, them bit by bit you get more and more, then suddenly you’re spending most of your disposable income on AM goodies! aarrggh![:P]

It’s all downhill now Jay![^][;)]

Jay that’s it your toast [;)] enjoy all the fidly bits.

Yukky weather on saturday & my wife out shopping means only one thing play day for Bear[:D]. I started work on the Airfix MK Vb and the putty has been flowing. The wing assy is done and I’m adding the PE (yes I’m toast to) bits to the interior fuselage I’m also trying to figure out how to build up the PE cockpit. Eduards does not make a set for the Airfix kit so I’m using a set for the Tamiya Spit and adjusting. I hope it comes out ok. I’ll post some pics this week.

Cheers
