Mike, I’ve been meaning to comment but seem to keep putting it off. Beautiful work, looking forward to seeing how she turns out.

I’ve been intending to jump into my stash of Second World War AFVs when I get out the aircraft mode I’ve been in for the last few years. But you guys keep tempting me to dig into some modern stuff!

Gamera - Remember, the power of the dark side is strong!! We all have our niches…now if you add a modern niche…whats one more niche between friends [;)]

There is some really great modern stuff as well as some great new entries into the WWII era. The most important thing is build what you like!!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving the message.

Hi Mike : )

Ya bringing this bad boy to AMPS East this season?

bill

Your builds coming along nicely Mike, always enjoyable to see what you come up with !!! I saw one of these a few weeks back headed towards Ft.Drum, but didn’t know what it was.

Keep up the great build, the modern builds are making a comeback!!!

Jeff

Bill - Thanks for stopping in…well…lord willing, hoping to finish up and bring it along. Hope to see you there

Jeff - Thanks…Ahhh Ft Drum…I know it well…Yep, this would be a vehicle the 10th Mountain would have. Used on the light units.

Lots of good stuff coming both modern and older. Modern stuff is always a bit more trying. you can’t load it up with chipping and rust like WWII.

A quick updated.

I applied washes with MIG Brown for Desert Yellow. The hatch handle is Vallejo USA Uniform Green with Flat Black tie straps and Flat black on the latch handle.

The rear ventilation louvers and exhaust I darkened with MIG Dark Wash. The handles on the rear door were painted Flat Black.

Some other details, the side handle cover also in Vallejo USA Uniform Green. The duke antenna holder I touched the inside with Flat Black as the 1:1 has black rubber bumpers on the inside of the holder.

After a flat coat to seal in the washes, I removed the masking on the windows and added the wipers which are painted Flat Black. The front light assemblies had their sockets painted with Alclad Brushed Aluminum. The turn signal lenses were painted with Tamiya Clear Orange on the inside of the clear lens. The tactical lights were painted with Tamiya Smoke. After the lenses, the light guards were installed.

More details and weathering to come

As always thanks for stopping by. Your comments good or bad are always appreciated.

I somehow completely missed this build, Mike.

Of course, it’s up to the consistent standards that you always bring. Nice building, great detailing, complementary, well=applied paint. What’s not to love?

You da modern man…[:D]

Loved the dust streaks… looking great!

Karl - Thanks…I especially appreciate the finishing comments coming from you.

Hope all turned out well with your move…looking to see some work from your end soon.

Andy - Thanks. Love the MIG washes and filters. They make life easy. Next is some pigments especially around the wheel wells and on the wheels when they are added.

Thanks again guys.

4000! congrats!

hey Mike : ) just a little comment on the front end detail…I gotta tell ya , I love it when I can tell that the guy building the model has taken strides to do a meticulous job… pain in the @$$ masking, teeny windshield wipers and little brushgaurds, the paint job and on and on… just another day in the life of a consistently great model maker…this one grabs me !

enjoying the ride,

bill

Washes and details look sharp Mike and congrats on crossing the 4k post milestone! [B]
