Since getting back into this hobby, I find myself picking up kits when on sale, stopping at hobby shops in other cities while traveling and buying clearance items or unique kits that I would normally not seek out. Does this happen to anyone else and how many do you have in your stash? I looked at my ever growing pile and thought I’d better not lose interest in this or else… I’m already at 25 (or so) and growing.[:$]
Yep…the stash grows way faster than I can build!
My current stash is something like 54…well…55 counting the Pz.III E/F I just picked up today…[:$]
I’m almost afraid to count. Its got to be over 300 kits. I made a resolution to stop buying kits, but, as usual, I read about an upcoming new release that I just have to have, mainly because these are new tool, never before introduced subjects in 1/48th… Thanks Kinetic…
just under 50 [proplr]
125-ish. Haven’t taken count in a while. My stash space isn’t as full as can be, but any more, and it will be beyond the point of being well organized, which would drive me bat$#!t insane!
The vast majority are from vendor tables.
umm, at a quick glance from the Mancave chair… i can see over 150… thats what i can see… with out standing up… going to the other annex… or moving kits to see whats behind them…[whstl]
Left with about 4 after fire. [:(]
Joe? Fire? I hope no one was hurt. A stash may be rebuilt, but family and others are irreplaceable (I know I state the obvious, but I do it for free). [:O]
Anyway, I’ve got 61. Fifty-seven are from a stash created about 20 years ago. The others, well, I just continue to buy. [:$]
More than I can likely build in the remainder of my natural life span at my current rate, unless I go back to adolescent building methods. At last count Ihave over 500 unbuilt kits. I currently average 10-12 year, although I have tried to step up the pace lately and branch out into new subject areas… so while my buying in my traditional kit areas has reduced, it has increased in my new subject matter… 1/350 ships
About 36 with 10 of them being airplanes which I still can’t seem to finish. I don’t know why I keep buying them, it’s just that I love them so, especially when you can get them at dirt cheap prices at vendors.
About 123 kits myself, mostly aircraft and tanks but the odd sci fi and car thrown in just to keep things interesting.
Just short of 200, with 4 more on route. About 3 quarters are 72nd aircraft, a few 32 a few sci fi and the rest 35th Armour. Then theres all the figures and kits of support vehicles that i don’t count. Some of these i have had for up to 15 odds years. But my stash has grown alot since i got back into the hobby 3 years ago. I keep promiseing myself i will not buy any more for a while, but then i just happen to see another must have kit before it dissapears.
I am at 80 kits…didn’t realize it was that big. Looking to expand as I have a bid on ebay and I am eyeing that 1:32 Tamiya P-51 on the horizon.
This thread made me recall that I made a stash inventory document last year. I updated & recalculated, & I was very close to my guess. 305 aircraft kits, 7 Tamiya kits (F1 cars & motorcycle kits).
Next weekend is the first of the two local IPMS contests. That means vendor tables. I guess this was a bad time to promise myself I wouldn’t buy anything new…
About 140 or so. 6 1/12 tamiya F1 cars, 45 or so ferrari kits, 12, 1/20 tamiya F1 cars, 25 or so 1/;48 and 1/35 arour kits 6 1/32 aircraft and the res are 1/72 and 1/48 aircraft kits and 1/24 cars.
Build to buying ratio is a bit out of whack.[^o)]
Around 60-70 unbuilt. Just trying to find the time to do them is a killer.[|-)]
My stash has 153 kits (I use an excell to register them all) Mostly aircraft, some sci fi and armor.
My building pace is about 7 kits a year, so I have got about 22 years worth of stash. That’s not enough to last me to my retirement, so I believe I can buy some more (my wife thinks otherwise)
Well…
Just under 20 here. About 4 are in various stages of completion.
3000 miles away in the 50 range with about 10 in various stages of completion.
Once paint hits plastic they do get finished, like a magnet drawing me to the finish line.
In about a year will buy a house, family is going to expand next month by 1 baby boy. Criteria for said house is a room for my hobbies.
So…
2/3 are still boxed with 1/3 started.
I’m at just over 120 kits, don’t have an exact count. 54 kits sit on the shelves of my man cave as to be builts. the rest are boxed in storage (which my '76 Ford school bus, yes it runs). Those in storage are mostly models I have left over from my high school days when I built prolificly. Most of my kits are 1/48 aircraft with a handful of 1/72. Also have 7 ships and 4 armor.
My stash will increase with the release of the Revell 1/48 PV-1 Ventura. Given my schedule I only manage about 1 -2 kits/yr and I am only on my 4th model since returning the hobby 3 yrs ago. I hope my grand children take up the hobby as a healthy kit stash maybe in their future.
Joe
Read this is a comfort for me, before thinkin i was ann insane modeller that buy more kits than the finishing rate.
my stash 34 airplanes/heòicopter, all 1/72 excpt an 1/48 tornado, 5 ships (1/800-1350)
only an armor ( [:S] a little 72 jagdphanter that need some friend) one car! and 24 sci-fi mechs… and an x-wing from amt/ertl … that’s all!
Only 10 of these are at reasonable percentage of finish
(not included in the count kg of fantasy miniature leaved in some place and about 1000 plastic figures from 1/160 to 1/24 scale )
total count 66 [^o)] i’m under average count!!
