Ok, so I finally decided to try my hand at some winter camo. I started with Tamiyas 1/48 Sturmgeschutz III and built it OOB in record time. Wanted to get to the good stuff. Painted lightened german grey, futured, decaled, futured again and then sprayed an uneven coat of flat white. Then I started chipping and wearing down the white. I used a piece of foam I tore off a cheap foam paint brush and started dabbing grey paint. Some oil washes and white and rusty streaks were added and this is what it looks like as of now.
I still got a ways to go with more weathering some mud (also a first) and some sort of base.
Any and all comments welcome and appreciated. Let me know where you think I can improve.
enodaed: SUPERB!!! This is one the nicest winter camo’s I’ve seen! You may want to wear the top some more though, and if I may, here’s my 1/35 version, I was surprised how similar they look!
Wow!! Thanks for the great reaction guys. Wasn’t expecting that. Means alot coming from such a talented panel. Now if I can just not muck it up from here. Any suggestions for good snow?
Looking great! I built the exact same kit, with the same camo, with the same technique. The kit got me modelling 1/48 armor. I did wind up using lions Roar PE kit though. Can’t wait to see more progress on your build.
