He’s one of many authors I like. My wife gave me that book for Christmas. Haven’t had a chance to read it yet.
Comrade, I feel your pain too. We’ve all been there and it’s so frustrating but it’s still part of the “enjoyment” of this hobby. Model on!
Or you could just say she was in a fight and got clocked in the face. ![]()
While the paint dries on my SW Tie Interceptor I will be starting on this Tamiya 1/48th scale Mitsubishi A6M3 Zero Fighter. This will be a OOB build with no AM.
Have a great day everyone!
Great choice of a classic plane and classic Tamiya kit. Any plans for a specific color scheme?
Hello Tom,
I am leaning towards the Tainan 2nd Fighter Group Taiwan 1944 (Dark Green & Light Gray). Still deciding lol.
Did some painting on my Ju88. Not much else.
Finally got my books for my M-12 so I start my project resin kit. The 1st piece I looked at had a piece of resin that was one of those things that make you second guess whether it belongs there or not?
Secondly I finally got some dulcote on my Stuart tank where the decals let me down. Needs another coat.
I had to use Walthers Solvaset decal setting solution, I heartily recommend, to finally melt the decals down on the turret. But with all the Tamiya setting solution applications the decal cracked and floated a chip away never to be found again. Before that it was maybe the easiest kit I’ve ever made, and I didn’t lose a part to the carpet monster. But I guess you always have to pay the piper…
I started putting together my new tool holder…. I was about to post this earlier, but when I uploaded the picture I noticed I put the top piece on backwards…. The tabs should be facing towards the back.
This was after I glued it. A few choice words were said. I ran back to my work bench. A q-tip, acetone and an Xacto knife. I got it apart and waiting for the wood to dry before I glue it again…
Nice save there. I seem to have to edit every post as I only seem to find mistakes after I hit send.
I opened this:
I wish Hobby Color Converter had ICM listed. Luckily, someone else on here had questions about converting their colors which led me to a chart. I only have one paint color to buy. I have all the rest in either Tamiya or Vallejo. I’ll use Mission Model British Interior green for the interior.
Finishing up a 1/32 scale 1932 Plymouth Roadster from Life-Like models. My first 32nd scale in a long time. The 4 piece hood had me baffled for a while and the wheels are awful (should be wire wheels). Still need headlights and other details. Hope to be done by tomorow.
@Strongeagle your paint work is amazing! I agree, wire wheels would really make it pop.
@PhoenixG @Comrade_Shmersky ain’t that the truth.
I can’t remember where I read it now, but I simply gave up trying to paint eyes on any figure of 35th scale or smaller. A little bit of shadow, like from the daker flesh wash, does a fine job without any risk of coming out looking like Marty Feldman.
Dear d4. Thank you. The paint is Tamiya Red Lacquer "pure red followed by Tamiya clear lacquer. It’s good stuff and goes through the airbrush nicely. It’s a very old kit I got off of ebay. I looked at all the 32 plymouth images on the web and all had wire wheels. I suspect they were too hard to mold and I haven’t seen any aftermarket ones. I thought for a while I’d scratch build some, but that is on the threshold for ‘too hard’ for the return I’d get.
That is way beyond my level of skill. I’m happy when I can add some wires to the cockpit of a plane or in the wheel wells. I would not know where to begin with wire rims.
Your Plymouth turned out great Strongeagle. I also have a few of these 1/32 scale car kits in my stash. I believe that those Life-Like kits eventually were taken over by Lindberg.
Finished up three 1/350 scale V-22 Ospreys that I painted into CMV-22B carrier on-board delivery aircraft for my carrier project. They are on the far left in the picture.
Do you think I have enough aircraft…or not enough? ![]()
