Got some primer and paint based in today. Yesterday I sculpted and attached the tail. The plan is to have it ready for a Mother’s Day surprise for my wife. It’s her character from years ago when she played World of Warcraft.
Timeline is pretty tight considering I’m out of country for half the days between now and then. Hoping to attempt some non-metallic metal (NMM) and OSL techniques on it for the first time as well.
Today I worked on a new airbrush paint booth. I show it when I’m done. It was built using plans from a company called VENT WORKS.
Pictures when it’s completed
@NucMedTech Are you going to light her up? I have the Fine Molds 1/72 kit languishing in my stash. I grabbed an aftermarket set of clear engine parts for the business end of the Falcon’s engines.
Oh, it definitely begs for lights. It’s the Millennium Falcon, and that kit is sizable.
Lighting is a pretty simple process. I was intimidated by it when I did my Republic Cruiser a couple of years ago, but that one turned out pretty well. Then I did the Klingon battle cruiser and the Enterprise in 1/350 scale, both with lights, that also turned out well. I also tackled a tiny Super Star Destroyer, with so-so results but there are tiny lights in that one.
Google it. Or come here to ask for techniques and tips.
I have tried a few times to light up some ships. I can get the lights to work and the look beautiful while building the model. Then i close it up and after everything is sealed up an led or two will go on the fritz. Lol
