Fred, Great looking B-17. So much detail, and color. Well done. [tup][tup]
That’s brilliant! Amazing talent.
Very nice work, I’m impressed.
That is really a very well done job, Fred. I have a visible Zero that has been sitting around my stash for years and I may attack that one now. Good stuff! I like it!
Excellent build Fred. Followed this from the start and your detail work is fantastic. Great to see a Visible model completed on the forums. Top marks,
…Guy
You did a nice job on this. If only they would do a visible B-29!

Thanks for the words of encouragement Fred and that is a great idea coating the half with future. I do that with cockpits and it never dawned on me to do that on a fuselage half…
She came out great Fred. Your giving me inspiration to get mine back on the bench. Love the colors and weathering. You should be very proud of her…[bow]
Cheers
Thank you again, everyone.
It’s truly an honor to be appreciated by the fine people of this forum.
-Fred
Did have to use a bucket to coat the whole fuselage in Future? Did you put it on the inside and outside? Great build BTW!
Very nicely done, 10 months well spent I would say and thanks for sharing the pics.[tup][tup]
Wow, that really is a gorgeous model Fred! I am quite envious of your ability to stay focused on this project through the long difficult times and turn out a stunning build. I like this one very much my friend, you should be very proud of your accomplishment.
Fantastic. This is the only word I can think of using to describe your model.
Thanks again, guys [8D]
Ken, I just used my trusty airbrush; 8psi and a whole lot of time. Though, I did need a tray of windex to take it off, the first time I goofed it up. Dipping or airbrushing is the only possible way to do a piece this size. Hand brushing is a complete fiasco - ask me how I know…[(-D]
Frank, that really means a lot, coming from you. Let’s trade for a month - my patience for your skill at detailling [;)]
-Fred
Great build up!
Nicely done.[tup][tup]
I’ve been following your build here and on RPF cataloging images for inspiration when I get back to working on mine, poor things been in the closet for over 10 years.
Eric…
Thanks, guys [8D]
C’mon Eric, drag that thing out of the closet. Hiding it away won’t make it build itself [;)] [(-D]. If I can build it, I’m pretty sure anyone can.
-Fred
I have a few other models I’m working on at the moment before I get going on it again.
I did build the same model when I was younger but in several moves it was destroyed so this one will be a replacment.[;)]
Eric…
depending on how much detail you want to add, I find it’s best to leave this one as a “this is my last model for XX months” type of deal. I made sure I had no other kits in the stash when I started this bad boy [(-D]
My next “last one for months” is a Titanic that I inherited from my friend. Her husband was never going to build it, so she gave it to me to get it out of the house [party].
But tomorrow, I start on a Sherman, followed by an Me262 for a GB, a Mosquito, then either the Titanic or a Capt. Cardboard X-wing that I picked up on the RPF for cheap.

I was going to ask you about your pictures, they almost have an HDR look to them. You adjusted the shadow/highlightsthe most, didnt you? Pics are awesome…turn them to black and white, and age them a bit, and it would almost appear as though they are from 1944!
Beautiful.
Simply Beautiful.
