Vietnam Air War GB - Extended!

Ok done pre-shading!

As requested by tcepilot on another thread, here is the Trumpeter 1/35 SA-2 on Launcher that I built a few years back (2008-2010?) The Dragon VC figures a re to give a bit of scale perspective on how big this sucker is.

Wow creat pics/ job, I have seen the SCUD at the museum in Dayton Ohio before, I need to get over there… I’m thinking about building Revells A-6 Intruder in 1/48

That A-6 is a very nice kit! With a lots of ordinance! Go for it!

I have the DML 1/35 Scud in Iraqi markings displayed next to my SA-2 on the shelf. Talk about two big builds.

I thnik I’ll pick her up tommorow!

Here is the camo. gray on the Phantom

Looks good there pilot [Y]

As a side note of the SA-2/Scud, here is what they look like on my display shelf…

wow looks great stik!

Stick: Scud looks great

Pilot: if you’re patient and lay on some thin layers of paint that preshading will really look great. Once you get the coat on lighten the paint with some white and carefully highlight the panels working from the inside out. Don’t go all the way to edges of the panels. It’s an awesome effect.

Ok so here she is so far… just one more green to go!

Wowzers. Looking good. I wish my airbrush work was that good when I was 15 and I used the same brush you’re using back then. Still have it actually. Good ole Paasche VL… A great little gun gets a bad rap by some but t can do some good work.

Didn’t get anything done today guys. The grandparents came to watch the kiddos so momma and I could get some time to ourselves. Finally went to see Dark Knight…epic…

Thank you! but I have the Paasche model H

Very rapid progress there pilot

Thanks stik! I have a request… will/can you build a THUD for our GB?

Oh the Thud is my favorite Vietnam Air Warrior… Ever since I read “Thud Ridge” when I was a kid in school. I have a soft spot for guys facing long odds: TBDs at Midway, the 82nd at Nijmegen, etc. I have a couple in my stash. Depending on how long it takes for the F-104. I really want to get that one built as I started the cockpit last year, and then stalled out when I moved in June. I really want to get it finished first. But the Thud is favorite of mine so I will seriously give it a chance.

Yes…You’re correct it was an H you had in that pic. I did learn on an H…then moved to a VL which I still have.

First a little housekeeping:

tcepilot please modify the roster for my build from “TF-100” to “F-100F”

Here’s the sprue shots.

The F sprues:

And the rest:

I would love to be in on this build. Trying to decide between a Marine F-8 or VA-195 A-7. The F-8 is an older release of the monograms F-8 and I have 2 A-7 an old monogram or a very old ESCI kit. Any suggestions?

Build all of them! It’s fine if you want to.
