Correction on my build. It is the Monogram 1/48 Steve Ritchie aircraft.

Ritche flew an F-4D for his his 1st, 2nd, and 5th kills, and a F-4E for his 3rd and 4th kills

So Revell is not correct in labelling thier kit as Steve Ritchie’s. I’m rather confused about his plane. .

I finally found the box in my stash. It is a Revell F4-C/D. And that’s that! It is the kit with the kill stars.

The Phantom OY 463 with the five kill stars was flown by Ritchie for his first and fifth kills. It was the the tip scoring phantom of the war having scored 4 other kills as well.

I would have to jump in here too. My problem is I too want to do Ritchie’s Oyster 463. I’ve had the decal sheet for 10+ years lying in wait, but I am not putting them on Revells phantom. I’ve got a Hasegawa J that I thought of modifying. I was really hoping for a new tooling c/d at some point.

My father knew Steve casually and I remember meeting him as a kid and just being fascinated that he was flying jets for a living in the TX ANG. That plane is sorta my holy grail and it’s hard for me to commit to the project.
