Joe,
greatmodels shows it available.
it is T34/85. not sure if you just typo’d it in your reply, or in your search . . .
it is Tamiya kit #35183.
greatmodels shows it as $23 list, $18 something price on their site.
The Tamiya Pazer II, III and Stug III all seem to have a minimal amount of parts, the opportunty for mono-color paint jobs and the all important rubber band tracks
if its ok with the group i need to see if i can change on what i was going to build. i know i said i was going to build the m163 vulcan for the group but i got it out the other night and that is way to much for a 48 hour job. if its ok i would like to change and build a m-107 cylops for the group. thanks rob.[:D][:D]
Sure Ga you can change! We really aren’t holding anyone to what they said yet, anyway. I figure come December I will put out a call for a list of what everyone is doing. That gives us all time to figure out what can be done.
After a little thought I think I will go for one of my Pz I B from Italeri. Think it can be done in 48 hours? It’s a simple kit and it will give me practice for the one I build with all the bells and whistles.
Ted- I have never built the Italeri Pz I. I just got the Dragon version, and I can tell you that one wouldn’t work with its teeny-tiny little tracks. Someone else will have to confirm that. I would say if it has rubber bands, go for it.
I’ve got the Dragon Pz I-B also and had, briefly, considered it for the 48 hour build but then thought better of it. Not sure what I will attempt, am kind of leaving that off to later as the date gets closer.
Indys alone add at least about 4-5 hours to a build what with painting and assembly so I will be looking for something that has rubber bands also no doubt. [:D]
I also thought about it until I saw the tracks. Plus dragon usually has a lot of tiny extras. I would go mad. I am concidering a departure from my normal WWII subjects and building the Tamiya M-48 in a Vietnam era OD paint job. Monocolor paint, rubber bands, not too many parts. Maybe? Plus it is supposed to be too tall and it has RC holes in the bottom. Doesn’t sound like a kit I would want to go all out on anyway, since it may have shape problems. Anyone done this one?
cplchilly, I dont know if Tamiya still markets the IIIG but I can tell you it does have rubber band tracks. I am building it for the Stug Group Build. I do recall seeing it on Ebay tho I think.
