Was rummaging back through my spares box last night and found the instructions for the “honey” along with a set of vinyl rubber band tracks. I’d forgotten that the kit came with both and I’d opted for the indys. If you use the vinyls you could probably do it in a weekend no problem.
Thank you Bill, that answered my question. I thought it came with dare I say vinyl tracks, but for a weekend build it might be a nice change of pace. I built the Tamiya one along time ago, is it any better than that kit? I always said to myself that I would like to rebuild one someday.
I liked the Honey, it has more detail than the Tamiya Pz II but still builds up fairly quickly, especially if you ignore the interior and build it closed hatch.
well guys you can count me in on this group build. i will build the m-163 vulcan for the weekend build. the only thing that will proablly slow me down is those darn indy tracks. if any one knows of replacements for the vulcan please let me know thanks rob[:D][:D]
Well sounds like you can count me in I love these builds there so relaxing (hey compared to 4 kids a house payment it is!!) I’m not sure what I’m going to build yet though.
Rebel,
the Pak 40 is a nice little kit. i built one for the Towed Gun GB.
not sure how you are w/ figures, but it has a three man crew.
and even the iffy job i did w/ mine took a while.
Joe,
consider the Tamiya T-34/85. i did one for the Weekend GB.
very Do-Able. FSM did an article where it was built over a weekend.
put me down as a possible.
if i am not away that weekend, i will be game.
i am sure there is something in the collection that would work.
tempted to find a nice OD kit.
a Sherman perhaps . . . .
(why is it the kit i think i should be building is NOT in my closet ?!?)
Hey Jwest just wanted to let you know that I am now a deffinate on this one. I have dug thru my stash (Its a tall and distinguished stash) and have found a model I had forgotten I had picked up at my LHS for half off. Its the Italeri T-26 Soviet Light Tank. If anyone has any info on the kit feel free to give me your 2 cents worth on it.
Good luck Rich, that will be different for sure. Does it have rubber band tracks? Does it have those infamous ejector pin holes in the most obvious places? Gotta love Italeri. They make some great stuff, but fidgety at times.
NEver did that but glad your definite. Seems to be a lot of interest in this one! I think I will wait until December though before I start putting down what everyone will build. Does that sound like the right way to go?
Tigerman: Yeah its got the Rubberband tracks and as far as injector pin marks go the only ones I have seen are the ones that are on the inside and outta site. Actually this model was produced by Svezda for Italeri. I have just started to see a lot of these Svezda models popping up on Ebay. I always seem a little lerious about buying one. They may be cheap on EBay but I am sure the shipping from Russia will twice the cost of the model.
JWest21: Yeah I dont think waiting is a bad Idea. Gives people plenty of time to decide.
if its fine, you can put me down for it. i have italeri’s sd kfz 234/4 armored car i want to build and now i have an excuse too (even though it is a couple of months away)
