Anybody heard anything about the plot/script ? My suggestions: 1. Ditch the love interest 2. Ditto the volleyball scene 3. Bring back Goose ! (Hey, it works on the Bold & The Beautiful)
1 and 2 are just fluff to draw in the female folk…more movie goers, more $$$. I think every one of us here would love nothing more than having that stuff eliminated from every one of “our” movies!
Personally, I’d be much more interested if it wasn’t for Tom Cruise…unless he just had a cameo, in the background, climbing out of a rubber dog **** hauler!

All I can say is thank God I’m to old and wise to be shanghied into joining the Navy again cause “the deck looked like a cool place to be”. Yeup I helped the Navy’s recruitment numbers in '86, …please don’t judge [8-)].
I know I’m in the minority, I did not like the first one. Thought it was stupid, I don’t like Cruz at all, even less now. I got tirerd of the deck scenes and did not care for the sound track. Now, l loved Hot Shots, both of them. ( l do like F-14s )

I can’t see where Tom Cruise would be any kind of draw for this movie. He’s right up there with Travolta when it comes to acting talent and charisma. If Cruise is the lead in this movie, I’ll have to take a pass.
And without Tom Skerritt and Michael Ironside, what’s the point?
I actually dont mind seeing Tom Cruise films. I like him better than many of the latest generation of leading actors. I don’t go to see a film because of him, but I don’t pass on a film to avoid him either. And Travolta certainly has some serious capabilities in the right roles. Have a look at him in the remake of Pelham 123.
A wild guess in my part says that Cruise will be doing the senior instructor role to some new hot shots… sort of a changing of the guard, passing the torch sort of thing. The role Tom Skerrit had in the original.
It was stupid,didnt make sense,but it was entertaining,I just didnt take it as a serious movie,it was fun,the musical score was great,Kenny Loggins,Jets were hot,but weak story.
Of course thats just my opinion,I was in my 20’s just starting modeling and I had fun with it.
I didn’t think it was that a great a movie as most people did. The flying scenes were pretty good…except for the canopy to canopy scenen that was dumb. I did like the music and have the soundtrack but otherwise, I don’t watch it anymore. Hotshots was a better movie. I have no interest in the sequel.
It could have been worse, that travesty called Iron Eagle was far worse. It was dumb and impossible right from the beginning and only got worse.
