Hi guys!

I thought about hosting a GB for tank destroyers and self propelled AT guns.

I’d set the starting date for Jan. 1st and I was thinking about a 1-year GB.

Just let me know in this thread if you are interested.

Ok, I’ll just post the first list of vehicles, but I really need your help with this!

Germany:

I like the sound of this one, the timing sounds good to me. Most of the current builds will have either finished or coming close to ending.

I have a Marder that’s been at the top of the build list for a while and keeps getting nudged down.

As a personal suggestion, I would make the start date jan 1st and keep it as a 2014 GB.

Yeah, Jan 1st is a better date to start this one.

I know what you mean about the Marder. I have started work on Eduard’s Hetzer (a great little kit with full interior!) but I chose to put it on ice because my modelling skills were not good enough for that kit at the time. I’ll try to fix some of the mistakes I made back then (there is a pretty bad gap where the engine firewall meets one of the hull sides for example…)

Awwwwwww, gee whiz Clemons! I’d promised myself I wouldn’t enter any more GBs till I finished some of the ones I’m already in and then you and Tigerman have to tempt me!!!

Cliff: I have a nice collection of TDs to choose from as well:

  • Eduard Hetzer
  • Dragon Ferdinand (Kursk)
  • Dragon Jagdpanther
  • Dragon Marder 3
  • Dragon T28 (yes, that driving bunker with 4 tracks and the huge gun)
  • AFV Club M-10 (I ordered one at my LHS, but still on its way to them)

And I have a 251 with a Pak 40 in my stash as well…

Eagle: It’s only TDs and self propelled AT guns (Nashorn, 251 with Pak 40, Halftrack with AT gun, RSO with Pak 40,…), so yes: armor only.

For all of you who are not sure if they find a subject you like: All the TDs and everything that drives and has an AT gun is allowed, so there should be a lot of vehicles to choose from.

Clem, I haven’t forgotten about those instructions. I managed to get them out the other day, I just need to scan them and send them off. But there is a lot to scan.

Would you allow partial builds? I have Dragon’s Panzerjager 1 about 25% done that’s been sitting doing nothing for over 12months. Would give me the motivation to finish it.

P.S. I was going to joke with you and ask if a Hs 129B with gear down would qualify, but didn’t know if anyone would get the humor! [:$]

I wouldn’t allow an Hs 129 even if it did count as a self propelled AT gun! (I want you to cut off both wings in that case though) Why? Because it’s [cnsod] ugly! That’s why!!! And don’t you dare to talk back!!! Yeah, I said it! It’s ugly! What are you going to do now?!!! [:@]

Just kidding. Any kind of plane is a no-go here. I think the 129 is ugly, but it looks cool at the same time! (maybe it was the inspiration for the A-10?) [;)]

Ok, we got 5 guys interested in this one after less than one day, so I think this is a definite “yes” to the question “to be or not to be” regarding this GB!

I’ll post this in the GB calendar, but I’d need a good name for it. Any suggestions?

How about “Rolling Thunder”, “Shoot To Thrill” or “Fire Your Guns”? Just some suggestions from my side…

Oh gee, forgot I do have an Ferninand, Jadgpanther, and a Su-100 too, since I’m on a big olive drab kick here lately. Looks like I’ve got everything but the time to build all this stuff.

You might consider: Seek…Strike…Destroy… Although that kinda refers to only US TDs.
