Tamiya's Kommandeurwagen steyr type 1500a *finished*

Hi chaps here is my current build, its nothing too exciting but i wanted a break from tracks and road wheels, the Tamiya kit is a gem and it would probably build well straight OOB but it happened to come with the Eduard PE set when i bought it (ebay special) so i will be using some of it but not all as some of the kit parts are better than the PE, anyway so far it has gone together flawlessly and here is where it is at right now i have skipped a few steps with the pics mostly the body and seats but there really was nothing to mention except it fell together.

Boxart and Eduard set

The chassis and wheels assembley.

Next the body was assembled along with the seats and here i added the grills from the eduard set also the anti skid floor and pedals, the set also included an instument panel along with the dials but i preferred the plastic (more 3d) so i drilled out the dials etc and thinned the back a little and used the eduard plastic dials on it and like it better.

Ron.

Man I can already picture it.!http://www.innovationbyinstinct.com/services/hosting/clients/accountyp/status/DisasterMaster/%23t1-4.jpg

Great work Ron! I wanted to see one build in years!

Not a tank? I just don’t know if I can look. OK, I looked. Looks like a fun diversion.

Off to a great start Ron, looking forward to seeing what you do with this softskin. [tup]

Looking forward to seeing your take on this classic.

looks like alot of us are getting away from tracks and road wheels for a spell.good choice.

I will watch with great interest Ron as your work never fails to impress me and i bought that kit recently along with the other variant.

Cool Beans! Watching with excited intrest! I really like what you did to the Instuments and dash!

Ron - Rubber is good…tires are good

Nice start

Rounds Complete!!

Wow, that tank factory of yours can build anything![;)] So biffa, any word on what the paint scheme will be?[?]

Ah yes, this is true [:D]

Thanks fella’s appreciate the interest im not 100% sure on the finish yet the grey looks like it might be cool but so does the squiggly camo pattern hhmm decisions decisions, at the moment grey finish on the eastern front with some dirt and dust might just be ahead slightly maybe even with a worn whitewash [:)]

Very nice…I have this in the stash and it really is a very cool kit…

Well guys after yet another forced absence from the hobby i have a little something to post, most of the work was done on this one but the pics were lost but needless to say it was a very easy build and most enjoyable, i had already applied a basecoat of tamiya dark yellow and all it really lacked was some weathering and finishing touches so l grabbed my brushes last night and finished it up if for no other reason than to just do something and i had a really good time with it i could have possibly done more as far as throwing some more junk in there and may end up trying to add a fig down the road but for now its done and its time to move forward so without further ado here are the pics.

Almost forgot about this build, but I’m glad to see it finished biffa! Love the overall well-worn and dusty appearance of this vehicle, looks like it was driving through the deserts of North Africa.[tup][8D]

Great looking build Ron. The paint and weathering is top notch as always.

Hope everything gets back to normal for you and the factory gets back to full production.

Oh, wow–that is too cool…reminds me of the days when I was Army Group South Commander: me and my staff used to cruise in a car just like this in Kharkov looking for Russian chicks…

First class build and the finnish is excellent[bow]
