Tamiya supplies apart parts

Hey all I haven’t posted in about a month. I wanted to share some information with you all. I’m currently building a Tamiya 1/48 P-47 Thunderbolt. I accidentally stepped on a piece I did not know had fell off the bench totally ruining it. It was the engine cowl. Maybe I could have fixed it, but it was in three pieces. Anyway, I emailed Tamiya asking if they sold spare parts. I offered to pay for the part and shipping of course. Not only did they have a few of my kits to cannibalize parts from, they are sending it out free of charge and postage paid. How about that! A great company, excellent customer support. By the way when I emailed them originally, they responded in about 40 minutes! This is a great forum and I wanted to share. Good day all!

That’s great.I’ll give a shout out to Meng, who provided free parts,as well as replacing the ones that I botched for a small charge.

Spruebrothers replaced missing parts on a Dragon Panther also for me.

Great to hear! I want to throw out kudos to Revell America as well. This little tractor came without decals in the box. I went on their website Saturday night and requested replacements fully expecting to pay. The first response I received from them was the tracking number for the replacement decals on Monday afternoon. Decals sent no charge for shipping even. They’ll be here Saturday!

Man, it’s so nice to hear these “success” stories about getting parts or decals from manufacturers or retailers. I’ve personally been told no or received no assistance so many times by manufacturers.

To add to great companies. My ICM OV-10A model came with JU-88 decals. I wrote to ICM and they sent me a free of charge replacement set of decals all the way from the Ukraine.

WOW! ICM is based in Ukraine with a war going on around them and they still deliver such great customer service!

I even saved the stamps…

Absolutely Incredible!

I think that a lot of model manufacturers could learn a thing or two from these manufacturers like ICM,Tamiya,Revell, & Meng.

Let me join in and give a shout out for Atlantis Models in New York. I had purchased a couple of kits from them that had issues with some parts. Commented in a product review. They immediately responded with contact instructions and mailed out replacements at no cost to me. They have been great to work with.

They apparently bought tooling from Revell and have been re-issuing a number of vintage kits. They have quite a spectrum of products available.

I sent a message to Atlantis Models just yesterday. An incorrect part in the 1/16th funny car. Within the hour, got a reply back saying the part will be shipped out.

Going to have to look them up online. Sounds like a quality company, thank you.

That is great news. Tamiya is a great company.

I’d like to know what e-mail you used to contact Tamiya that gave you such a quick and satisfactory result.
I’ve tried contacting them about a 1/32 Zero kit I have that had parts missing.
I tried contacting them at least 5-6 times on their website and the e-mail they supplied on their website with zero results so I’m quite disappointed with their customer service.
Thank you

Try usa_support@tamiya.com - great service. (Assuming you’re in the US)

The replacement part for my Funny Car arrived today from Atlantis. Pretty quick turnaround.

Your contact e-mail was very successful.
I received a response immediately and they are going to replace the damaged parts for my Zero kit at no charge.
Thank you so much for that contact info as Tamia’s support contact from their website was not helpful after several attempts.
Thanks again and happy modeling!

Glad to hear it. @Tim_Kidwell1 perhaps we can pin a page on manufacturer contact for parts replacement.

I just saw your request for another email for Tamiya. I’m glad you were able to get it from one of the modelers here. Good stuff!!
