After re-aquainting myself with the hobby by tackling several Airfix 1:72 models, I finally decided to step up and try to put some new skills to work on a larger model. This was a spur of the moment purchase but I’ve been very happy working on it. The kit was really nice quality with great fit and details. All my painting is with rattlecans (Tamiya) and brushes so I tried very hard to only paint in light coats so I didn’t fill in the engraved lines. I think I mostly succeded and I was very happy when the sludge wash showed up fairly well.
I’d be happy for any feedback about ways I might be able to improve. But most of all I want to thank the people on the forums. Watching the discussions and seeing the fantastic work people post here was my primary inspiration.
Cheers,
Brian

Wow…you did that with rattle cans? I salute you [t$t]. You did a very nice job!!!
Beautiful work, Brian!! [Y] [Y] Very nice photos, too. I’m afraid to start my F-16 now after seeing yours! (With no pilot onboard, I’d build it with landing gear down, tho.)
Ken
beautiful work !!!
i’m currently building Academy’s version of the f-16. you can be sure that i will refer to those photos!!
Should I just quit modelling now? I cant even do that with an airbrush half the time and you managed to pull it off with rattle cans! Amazing job!
Fantastic job - I love the detail on the missles and bombs!
Very well done. I too like your detailed ordinance.
Looks spiffy. I haven’t done a jet in ages, but I do have a Viper in the stash with some “How’s my driving?” decals I would like to get at soon.
Thanks for all the encouraging words! Yes, I haven’t made the step up to airbrush, but I’ve been very happy working with the Tamiya rattlecans. Whether its the nozzle or the paint itself, they seem to go on very fine and thin, so as long as I’m patient the results seem pretty good. (I still look longingly at those beautiful camo schemes on MiGs though - maybe someday!)
Cheers,
Brian
