[#welcome] Thats one nice looking bird there ive never built one of those looks like it was a fun build. Is that a Vacuform caopy and are they easy to use?
Wow- that is awesome! First kit in 8 years? Man, I can’t wait to see your second kit. [:)]
Really- you’ve done outstanding work on that bird. the interior is very well done, the paint is great, and the weathering is some of the best I’ve seen.
Karel: Beautiful work on the Buffalo. I’m curious: which paints did you use (Brand/enamel or acrylic)? I especialy like how the landing gear turned out. Looks more like metal than plastic. Very nicely done.
And don’t make us wait 8 more years to see another build!
Indeed its very easy to overdo the weathering, in general most people get to excided when weathering and dont know when to stop.
I did make that mistake a lot of times when i just started modelling [:)]
For me its important that the chipping is not overdone, normally i mix some aluminium and some dark-brown (about 70-30%) to tone it a bit down because aluminium or silver is way to bright and you get a lot of shiny little spots that dont look realistic.
For the rest of the weathering; i just look and study as many wartime pictures as i can and try to get that look on my model.
Wow! That is some great work! I always liked the Buffalo and you did a wonderful job on it. Keep up the great work and I look forward to seeing your next build.
I`ve really got the taste of modelling back, i think my next model is going to be a Hasegawa or Tamiya P47D Thunderbolt with a Verlinden super detail kit.
I know its a very common type of model but i still like the classic lines of this aircraft and its an all time favorit for me. I have not done a lot of metal finished models so lets hope i`ll do it right.
