T-90MS camo

I just received the 1/35 Zvezda T-90MS, i notice it only calls for a desert camo pattern but is there any pictures showing it in a more green base pattern or a plain green pattern? It’s my first modern kit in awhile.

If you search for some of the Polish schemes or perhaps Malaysian schemes you might find some. It might be hard to find “non-desert” schemes since they are pushing the Middle Eastern market for these tanks. European countries are satisified with the Leopard series.

Hello!

Did Rob say Polish? One thing, though - let’s not confuse the earlier PT-91 Twardy (which is a T-72 mod) with the new Russian T-90 - Poland doesn’t use them. Desert schemes are just fashionable these days - but I’m sure if you look up some Russian sites, you’ll find some schemes for more northern weather. The trich would be to go to google translate, let it translate “T-90 tank” into Russian, copy the Russian text and let google look for the Russian phrase. Sometimes you get extremely interesting results this way.

Here’s what I found:

T-90 Tank

Hope it helps, have a nice day

I will say i do like that top right camo pattern. i think i may have just found My inspiration

To give him ideas for European camouflage patterns, not for “true to life” camouflage paint schemes. Like I said, that tank is being marketed to countries with arid temperatures, not European. Virtually any pattern you put on it falls into the “what if” category since they all appear to be demo vehicles as opposed to operational ones.

Is the T-90MS in service anywhere? Or just being pitched to various countries?

As far as I know, just being demo’d to potential buyers. That’s why I suggested looking for schemes for similar tanks.

April 2019, India’s Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) has approved the INR134.48 billion (USD 1.93 billion) procurement of 464 Russian-made T-90MS main battle tanks (MBTs) for the Indian Army (IA), the New Delhi Times reports. According to a news released on November 8, 2019, to the official website of the “Times of India”, the Indian Ministry of defense has signed a contract with with the Heavy Vehicles Factory at Avadi in Chennai to produce 469 Russian T-90 Main Battle Tanks (MBTs), that could be the MS version of the T-90 family.

Start looking at Indian Army PR Photos.

Interesting to see them get the first batch. I wonder if this is just going to be an export vehicle or if the Russians will field them later. Like i stayed above I loke the look of that camo in the top right photo.

I have not been tracking this tank, but it looks like when we dolly up an old M60 series tank and try to sell them to other countries as a cheaper alternative that looks M1ish.

Youre not wrong, I wasnt really aware of this vehicle either. it looks as if they just added more reactive armor

I think it looks pretty good in their Russian MERDC style camo

Yup, it is basically an improved (maybe?) T-72. I personally saw how they fared in Iraq. I was not impressed.

Opened it up to see what was inside, did you?

That is pretty much what it is. The T-90 designation came about for the latest model of T-72 after their dismal showing in Desert Storm. Nobody wanted to buy an export T-72. So rebrand it as a whole new improved tank, the T-90, and the sales markets opened up.

That actually looks pretty good, maybe I’ll paint it like that. Is there a paint set for this style of camo?

AK Real Color makes Modern Russian Green 98 and Russian Grayish Yellow 99. Any flat black should do.

Ill keep that in mind, I haven’t used that paint brand yet. I usually use Ammo Mig.

Real Color is pretty good. Very strong pigments. In formulation and consistency they remind me of Gunze.

Thank you I’ll give it a shot
