Some ideas for "new" aircraft kits

This post is in hopes that the major manufacturer’s read the posts on FSMs forums.

First. To Tamiya. I would like to see an A-1E in 1/48. I don’t think it would be too hard for you to do. You already have an excellent starting point in your fantastic A-1H. A new fuselage and interior would just about do it. Now, before I get flamed. I know that there is more to it than that but, it wouldn’t be that hard to do. In my opinion. Maybe someone from IPMS Philippines could pass this on to Mr. Tamiya.

Next, to Revell-Monogram or Revell of Germany. A 1/48 A/B-26K Counter Invader. Again, it shouldn’t be that difficult to do considering that you have the A-26B as a starting point. Also, I would like to see you update and release a T-28D or any other T-28 variant in 1/48. Not the toy like kit of the past but, do like you did the SB2C-4 Helldiver in your Pro Modeler line. Improve on it.

Just my thoughts. Feel free to weigh in on these kits.

See you all, soon.

Hasagawa, a 1/48 scale F9F Cougar, F11F-1 Tiger, F-94C Starfighter, RF-101C Voodoo, and F-111F Vark.

Interesting…Tamiya seems to have turned more towards thier 1/48 armor line right now. Good call on the Sandy though.

Seeing as how Italeri just released a 1/72 A26K it may be a while before any one else moves. I figure they will take a wait and see attitude. The preview on Modeling Madness of the Italeri kit was complimentary so this may bode well for other releases in other scales.

I would like to see a 1/32 release of an SnJ. Lots and lots of options for this bird to be certain. Another would be a really nice P/F80 Shooting Star. The others would be the between the wars fighters…Heinkels and Arado etc.

Here is a list of some missing WWII era “US used” representation at 1/48 to ponder over. Some more feasible than others. Favs would like to see in bold.

Oh, I would love to see Tamiya release the A-1E! Speaking of releasing obvious next kits in a particular aircraft line, how about Hasegawa releases the F-4C/D and an F-4B updated like their F-4E and F-4J?

A B-26K would be awesome too, since as far as I know the only 1/48th option for one is the expensive and hard to find Paragon conversion

I also would love to see an updated A-6(an A-6A would be great, so would an E), F-105D and G, a new P-80 and an updated F-100D all with recessed panel lines.

Quagmeyer: you seemed to have misplaced the :
North American XP-67 (one of my favorites)

I would like to see a redo by either of the century series in 1/48th
especially the Hun

how about 1/32 scale

dragon rapide

bird dog

twin otter

I would like to see a couple. An A-6 Intruder in 1/48 would be nice, and maybe an F-14 kit without the problems they all seem to have [:D] I would settle for the new A-6 though.

My list would include the 1/48 A1-E for sure. Even though I build mostly WWII, I’d also like to see new State Of The Art tools for 1/48 P80C, F100, F9F-2, and most of all a FH-1 Phantom. For props, a new DO17 would be very nice.

Regards, Rick

Wasn’t someone coming out with a newly tooled Do-17? I thought I saw that someplace.

Looking around, I think it is Hobbycraft with a Do-17Z. My limited experience with them tells me it won’t be much of an improvement. Let hope I am wrong.

Here’s an idea I’d like to see someone put out a 1/32 B-17G Flying Fort & the A3J-1 Vigilante (A-5A version) Along with The RA-5C Vigilante in 1/32.

JWest21: Paragon IS back in business so you shouldn’t have much trouble that conversion set. (I recently ordered direct from Neil)

The A-6A redone in 1/48 or even 1/32. That’d be cool.

Ed, do you have a website? I would like to check that out

How about a 1/72 scale A-5A Vigilante, been waiting for years to do one of those.

Jason, Sorry, no website as of yet but, Neil can be contacted via email: Neil Burkill paragondesigns@hotmail.co.uk contact him direct & he can update you on availability, price, etc. hth, Eddie

i’d want a 1/32 F-106

A truly well engineered Short Stirling would be nice.

It was McDonnell XP-67, and that would be a great one to see.

You know, this is one of the best lists I’ve seen in a while. I am right there with you on such esoteric subjects as the B-15, B-19, AIRACUDA!!!, B-18, B-23, Boeing 307!!! etc. And I don’t even care what scale they’re in. I would add Boeing B-9,Martin B-10, and for crying out loud, a good, well engineered B-26 IN ANY SCALE to the list. Unfortunately, our chances are just about nil, as everyone wants another P-51, Skyraider, or Stuka.

If FSM would get its act together and actually let modelers CHOOSE their favorites in their readers’ polls, instead of GIVING US A LIST TO CHOOSE FROM, we might see just a little more diversity.

Since I’m on a Korean War Jets kick, I’d like to see a new F-80C and F-86A kit in 48th. That, and my ultimate fantasy, a state-of-the-art AH-56A in 48th!
