Some ideas for "new" aircraft kits

Trumpeter is coming out with a 1/32 A-6, when I don’t know? I saw it a long time ago on GMW’s site and they had it listed as a December release, well, now its status just says “future”? So I would assume that means they have no idea?

The Moonbat is available in 1/48 resin. I have it. See link.

If you want the full list of aircraft used by the US or built (X-planes, prototypes, etc.) for the US armed forces during WWII then that gets longer, but I have excluded those planes that already exist at 1/48 scale. I should post the list in the reference section someday.

Also, Scott you can get a 1/48 scale version of the B-10 in resin from Lone Star Models (I have it in my stash). I can get you their contact information if you’re interested. Need to search for it when I get home this weekend.

GMW Has NO idea period.[|(]

I’d like to see Hasegawa round out it’s P-40 line with the Merlin-engined versions. Also, why has no one done a P-47B or prototype? I mean the P-47 was the single most numerous aircraft in US history. And, face it the “car door” cockpit on a T’Bolt is just too cool. Hopefully the Classic Airframes guys are listening.

Easy there Ed, lets keep the retailer bashing to the other thread thats going [:D] I hate to say it, but I do agree with you though… ow… that hurt [B)]

who’s bashin’? [(-D] Was dat your ego I heard crashin’?[:-,][(-D]

Okay, Quag.

I could do an ‘Air America’ C-46 and a C-54 fire bomber in TBM, Inc. colors. And I just like the looks of the DC-5. All in 1/48!!! These, with my original requests and I’ll be set for awhile.

Among my wish list for 1/48 is: Douglass A-3 & B-66, Beechcraft Starship, North American B-45 (+variants), AJ-1 - 2 Savage, F-101A & RF-101A, Lockheed A-12 (please, not Testors, I’m running out of filler), F-8U Photo, XF-88 w/ prop option, F-107, F-103, F-108, XC-99 (ok 1/72) XF-102 (pre coke bottling) Beechcraft C-12A, Bell X-2 pleeeeese, Sea Dart pleeeeeese, Hughes XF-11, Grumman Gulfstream IV or…, Lockheed Jetstar, And lastly, Martin P-4M Mercator. More when I can think better

The fact that Trumpeter saw fit to issue a 1/72 Westand Wyvern gives me hope that someone will at some point do a 1/72 Fairey Gannet. Right now its just reissues of the old Frog kit or CMK’s resin kit for 1/72 representation of that bird. There needs to be something between for it.

A new tooled 1/72 BAC Lightning interceptor would also be most welcome.

I usually don’t go for the big scale stuff, but a 1/32 P-39 would be nice.

A new go round of the century series in 1/48 with today’s tooling technologies, particularly the F-101B/F Voodoo and perhaps an F-105 kit with focus on the bare metal USAFE variants.

1/72 or 1/48 Beriev BE-12 “Mail”

Hasn’t Trumpeter released that kit last year?

Anyhoo, a for a wish kit a Lockheed Cheyenne…

I concurr with “eizzle,” a 1/48 scale A-6E. However I like it when the kit maker provides extra parts for different variants. So I would like to see an A-6 with parts for the A thru E mods and parts for the KA-6D.

Yeah, I have it on the bench. It is going to be a nightmare. I’d like to see one decently tooled in plastic.

No, they releaed a 1/72 scale RA-5C, it’s the recce version with the hump back. An A-5A was the original version without the hump back or recce canoe.

Also, how about a E-1B, the Mack 2 kit is junk. I have it and will have to use a Hasagawe S-2 kit to use as parts for it.

I would really love to see an ME-410 or a JU-188. Ideally in 1/32 scale, but more practically, in 1/48.

Monogram did the Me 410B-1 in their ‘Pro Modeler’ series. It had options for 2 or 3 different variants. You might be able to find one on ‘Evilbay’.

It’s a very good kit. Recessed panel lines and an excellent interior. Just my opinion.

I’d kill for an affordable (less than $100) Martin PBM-3 or 5 Mariner in 1/48. The best alternative right now is the Mach 2 kit in 1/72 which is getting hard to find for a decent price and is lacking interior detail and aftermarket options. This was my grandfathers plane during WW2.

Sweet! Thanks chopperfan… I’ll check it out.

Now Cutting Edge is suppose to be working on some conversion sets for the Vigi. early RA-5C -8 intakes & the A-5A. That’d be great to have[:D]
