Show us your armor collection!

Doog, Wow, I absolutely adore your hetzer’s and Sig, [bow] (Along with the Tiger 1 I’m a pretty big fan of the Hetzer, strange eh?).

Ian, Great first dio, I wish I could build one that well…and umm, a Terran Marine, you ROCK.

Manstein, Amazing work you’ve done, I love the halftracks and figures, the amount of detail is stunning, have you been in alot of competitions?

Roy, I really like all the artillery, those flak 43’s are really interesting, I’ve never seen anything like those before. Were they difficult to convert?

Panzerguy, Really really wonderful what you’ve done with your tigers. And I love the PaK-40 Diorama as well.[;)]

Chris, The DML Tiger 1 late was your first build? If so, WOW, you need to make a profession out of this, that is simply amazing for a first build. That kit was much too difficult for me the first time around so I am going to purchase it again, but you have done such an amazing job with yours it almost makes me feel bad![(-D]Also, I really like the Leopard, Leclerc, and Challengers.

Redleg, Great looking M107, that one really caught my eye. The dioramas are also definately worth praise.

-Alex

Townsy, I’ve seen that Leopard in the new Finescale issue!

Congrats on getting published! [#toast]

Great builds there Redleg! Especially the Greyhound and the M925, I remember seeing how much work went into all those crates!

Uh not exactly, it’s my earliest build that I havn’t blown up with firecrackers or shot at with a pellet gun… for now lol. Anyways thanks for the compliments!

and Doog, I’m Glad to hear it got published! I got a little worried when I didn’t see it in the “September Preview” here on the site. And thanks!

Ok since most are posting their builds individually, I will do mine as well…Here goes nothing…

In the clearest chronological order that I can remember before I took that 3 year break:

StuG III Operation Barbarossa(Ressurected as a destroyed vehicle, because I messed it up a while back).

Tiger 1 Initial Version, Leningrad. My “Baby”.

Flak 36/37 Deployed in Tunisia, very difficult to build and paint I might add.

1/25 Jagdpanther, dog chewed it, and I one day hope to restore it.

M1A1 Abrams Desert Storm, painted in “Dad” markings.

“Sturer Emil” 120mm self propelled gun. Only two of these were made, This one represents the one that has not been found, it has 22 combat kills.

KV-1 Simplified Turret, I’m not sure what area this tank represents…

Panther A, Normandy 1944

1/72 M4 Sherman, hand painted markings. Named after the person who gave me the kit.

Panzer IV Ausf H.

Sd.Kfz.251/C, Kursk, Panzergrenadier Division, in 1943

And these are very old pics, which I cannot recall when I built them, and they are lost now, but I will post them anyway.

These first three are all 1/72

Never finished this one.

King Tiger, my second armor model.

And this was my first attempt at a Halftrack, failed…

Here is what the Jagdpanther used to look like…

Thats it for now, let me know what ya’ like!

-Alex

I can’t remember the exact order of when they were built, but i can remember the first five i built: m4 sherman (1/48) tiger 1 (1/48) M-10 (1/48) M5A1 (1/35) M3 (1/35). my models are all over various shelves, so i can’t remember the order.

as well as many others, (2 t-34s, etc) but i didn’t want to take up too much space.

oh and a pat on the back to who ever gets this pun…

Tigertankman - Thanks, the M107, there is nothing like a BIG gun. Also thanks on the dio comment.

It would appear your garage is a museum and has some nice items in it. Nice job on the Flak Gun.

Chris - Thanks. You too have a nice collection.

As I said before, this is great that everyone is sharing.

Rounds Complete!!

will here is my short and quick collection. i have more of a stash than a collection. but that is changing. the oldest one is the m-247 sgt york. when i frist saw it i had to have it but that was some 30 years ago and i had to save up for it and that is the only one that has survied serval moves across the usa. then when i got back into the armor after giving up the wing things these are the only two that i have built. the m107 was done a few months back. and the priest kangaroo was just completed last week. right know i have a dodge wc-54 ambulance wip and a m978 hemtt fuel truck that has stalled for the time being. so here are only 3 pics from my collection. and boy those are some great builds that you guys have.

Can I play too?[:D]

First let me say there is a ton of inspirational stuff in this thread. great builds evreybody.

My collection is small (for now [;)])… I only started armor this year

Your transformation to the darkside is complete…5 armor models within a year definitely makes you a bonafide treadhead. Of course you can play too! [(-D]

I’ll join the game.

My first ever tank was Tamiya’s Panzer II. I brushed painted it because I didn’t know how to use my dad’s airbrush.

I’m not sure what came next but I have a feeling it came in this order.

This was my second tank and first Dragon kit. I think I was afraid of it for over a year.

I built this Panther for a school project last winter.

Dragon StuG III A

This is the first kit I airbrushed all by myself. Then I covered it with white wash…

Wow, I just realized how dusty my shelves are. Going to clean those up.

Erik

Tacobuff, Great job on the sherman, a first place trophy eh? Man, I wish I could go to a hobby contest.

GA.modelmaker, Nifty looking m-60(?) AA gun conversion thingy. Never seen one of those before. I really like your M-107 as well.

Wing_Nut, Holy crap, someone please explain to me how you got that winter Panzer IV to look so amazing!

Geist, Wow I really like how that T-34 looks[tup] The Panzer IV and Tiger II are beautifully camoflauged as well.

-Alex

Tigertankman, nice builds.

I just finished up the old Tamiya 251/1. So I thought I would add it to my collection now. That was a fun kit.

I drilled the MG barrels. This was the first time I’ve tried that and I think it turned out pretty well. I also made head light wires using copper wire.

Erik

That looks GREAT!!![tup][tup]

this is an excellent thread, it’s great to see where some of started, and where we are now. All this work is simply top notch.

And no, the sherman didn’t take first (tho it’s one of my better builds). The small picture frame next to it has a Panzer III in white wash on it, and that took first. There’s pics of it somewhere in the bowels of the forums under “my first contest model” or some such thing.

Well, I guess I have to add my collection here again…

Here’s my work:

German Pak 35/36 37mm AT Gun Tamiya

German Sd.Kfz. 2 Kettenkraftrad Tamiya: Light Scratchbuilding here as well.

German Sd.Kfz. 251/17 and AA Gun Tamiya & DML: The sides and gun stand were scratchbuilt.

Soviet KT-40 Flying Tank concept: The glider was fully scratchbuilt and the tank is from RPM

Soviet T-60 Light Tank RPM

US M41 Walker Bulldog Tamiya this was my first true Armor build.

IDF M151A1 Ford MUTT w/TOW Missile Launcher: I think it’s my best for now. I did some light scratchbuilding here.

US M2A2 Bradley IFV upgraded w/ERA & CITV unit Academy: The ERA was added to give it the look of the ones that are in Iraq right now. The Chassis, upper hull and turret were coverd with scratchbuilt ER Armor and one CITV camera. An Lots of PE as well.

Once I get and new projects done I will come back and update this. Oh and a big[tup] to every one all the work here is just stunning, I love all that modern armor.

Tiking, Wow, amazing is what I see. I love the truck with all the gear and weapons on it, with the door open. Superb plumbing on the last one![tup]

White_R34, Absolutely f***ing wonderful job on the Bradley and the Halftrack, everything else is top notch too, but those really caught my eye.

-Alex

Wow. I’m in awe of all of you guys! Tiking and White_R34, that’s just fantastic work. Those HETTs especially (HEMMTs? I get them mixed up), are so realistic I’m smellin the cordite from the IEDs again.

So here’s mine. I know the idea was to post pics of the stash all together, but like most I don’t have them all in one place. And another disclaimer: This ain’t gonna be anywhere near as good as a lot of the stuff already posted. [:O]

This was going to be my Australian Grant for the Aussie GB, but I still haven’t finished it. Went ahead and gave it Brit markings though.

Small dio starring one of my more infamous 251’s (some of you have seen it before, and helped me with the weathering a great deal). Verlinden base, Dragon & Tamiya figs.

same dio

Tamiya T34/85 with a CMK turret. Did this one for the Winter Warriors GB.

same tank

Italieri Carro Armato. Scratched the jerrycan rack on the side. Fruil tracks and sprockets, the rest is OOB. I was experimenting with different weathering ideas, as you can see - [8D]

Dragon 250, with complete interior detail by Lion Roar. Loved this one. Almost nothing is stock.

Just a few more…

Hree’s one of those AFV Club kits I picked up in Taipei, done almost entirely OOB:

and here’s another 251 (wrecked). This one has the entire Lion Roar interior detail also, and Fruil tracks (what’s left of them):

Next up on the hit parade is my Dragon Jagdpanther. This was also started for a GB, but so far unfinished:

…and the one I’m working on now…

.

.

And no stash collection would be complete without a pic of my 1:1 scale tank destroyer:

Thanks TigerTank this guys work above me is outstanding as well [tup] hay wan to hear somthing cool I think I may have found a place were I can get a M-978 Oshkosh tuck but once I call and order one I will let you all know if its a good to go deal. Oh and it’s not on Evil-Bay (E-Bay) The trucks are from testors/Italeri.

jthurston, [:O] Simply amazing airbrushing on that tiger, I was wondering if you could give me a few pointers? At the moment I use a Passche double action…
