i think i have gone fokker-mad, at least temporarily…
i will b building at least 6 of these wonderful little a/c over the next few
weeks/months/whatever, & here’s where we r at so far:
Lt. Josef Jacobs’ a/c, Jasta 7, 1918
Lt. Paul Baumer’s a/c, Jasta 2, 1918
Lt. Erika Von Frostein, Jasta 2, 1918
these r all smer/eduard 1/72 kits, most of the painting is done
w/ the parts still on the sprues.
DanCooper:
luckily these r quite small a/c !
i hadn’t thought about a red tail, great idea !
have u ever heard of a fellow named Eugene Jacques Bullard (iirc) ?
he was a black man who flew with the Lafayette Escadrille in France,
but he was tossed out when the US Army Air Corps took over…
& there wasn’t another black US military flier until the Tuskegee Airmencame into being !
everybody:
thanx 4 checking out my work & have a great weekend !
LOL !!!
i was wondering when someone would notice that little detail,
this will b a Dr.I in my personal markings !
oops, i should have typed VON, not VAN…
ich bin machen ein dumheit !
(but i fixed it now… [;)])
Nice looking planes, Frosty. I have a couple of these from Eduard started, and was planning to make them into the prototype F I 102 and 103, with the Rose modification set. Can I pick your brain for any tips to be aware of? What are you using for paint? I have some WWI Fokker paint I bought from Czech Hobbies that I was planning to use, but I have not worked with this paint before. Are you familiar with this stuff and how it works? It’s been a looooong time since I built WWI (back in the days when only Airfix and Revell made them), and I’m very much out of practice with them.
Nice work on those builds, im building a fokker for the flying circus group build its been a while since ive built ww1, but if its half as good as yours are looking id be pretty happy.
maybe the build should be changed to Von frostys flying circus gb
