Are there good small scale (1/24, 1/32 or 1/48) modern sail plane kits? I’ve seen some gigantic kits (the wingspan of 6-7 feet).
Revell of Germany makes a 1/32nd Schlieker ASK-21 thats a really nice kit. Modela and some other Eastern European companies also produce sailplane kits in small scales.
Guillows makes a 1/24th Schweizer SGS-2-32 in balsa…
Planet makes some vintage gliders in 1/48, resin. I have several and think they are great. But not modern.
I had one of the RG ASK kits. It was very nice, but during painting I had left an unnoticed gap masking the canopy and it let white spray into interior and ruined it. I should try another, though.
The very first bird I ever flew by myself was a 1950 Sweizer in N. Y. Now I wish I just could get close to one .
The Revell kits are nice, but hard to find. I’ve built all of them, many times actually.
