I just noticed from this site that there is a kit for Romulan Bird of Prey from “Enterprise”. Scroll down about 1/3 down page.

I think it really looks cool, but I really want to complain to the continuity department in “Enterprise”. It looks more futuristic than TOS Bird of Prey. I suppose they have a TV show to make for people in the 21st Century, but to us Trek fans it is an aberration.

Looks more like something from DS9 during the Dominion War. Your right about the 21st century t.v. viewers.
At first I justified it by saying
“Look at cars. Some cars are more advanced than others. In the same year you could have some sleak exotic like a Ferrari and the Yugo.”
I for one like the old TOS look though and wish they could give us a little more of that.

There are so many continuity problems with Enterprise it blows my mind. I am continually frustrated with the series as I think it ignores fans.
Amen brother. I just treat it as a stand alone Sci-Fi show as it doesn’t mesh with the original series. I think they realized how horribly far they have strayed from the francise because this season they are desperately trying to tie it to TOS.
Yeah they scewed the fans royally.I don’t know if you read the books or not but the Klingons did not have ships that looked like that in that time period.Heck the Klingons themselves did’nt look like that. Let alone the Romulans.Stand alone is best but I am just sick of it and have’nt watched since mid ay thru the first season.
Any one worth the salt they are made of knows that the Federation did not encounter Romulans untill the TOS era anyway. Like you all said, so much for continuity.

I thought they fought them during the four years war? I could be mistaken, but I know the episode you refer to and the Fed had encountered them before but had never seen them, I think. If I had the episodes on DVD I would check.
Lee, you’re mistaken. Watch the episode “Balance of Terror” , where Spock recounts the previous Earth-Romulan war of nearly a century earlier. Stiles refers to some of his ancestors killed in that war.
What books would those be?
I don’t watch the Star Trek TV offerings (I sort of petered out during TNG, as I felt it got a little trite), but my understanding is that the people that a franchise like this hires to write the books (which are usually pretty pulpy, often a kind of glorified fan fiction) aren’t kept on all that close a leash when it comes to maintaining continuity with the film and TV projects.
The books I refer to are Spocks World and the Romulan Way both by Diane Carey as well as The Final Frontier by I think Margaret Wander Bonano and the rest of the pocket books. Some authors get a little campy but these books set the tone for many wonderful game nights with my old group. They may be at a local used book store or at Barnes & Nobles.com check them out if you are interested.

Not only is the Romulan war in the future of “Enterprise” but in Kirks time the Romulans still don’t have warp technology. The fact that their ships were warp capable on “Enterprise” is just one of many, many continuity discrepencies.
Exactly and with a continued interest in both real world (pardon the pun) space exploration as well as in the Star Fleet Universe one would conclude, quite logically I think, that any future endeavors from the franchise that continue to alienate the fans will only kill the franchise. It would be a shame to loose what could still be an entertainment giant.

I saw a short trailer for Star Wars 3 and those ships look like ? WW2 crap.
I like the real WW2 but what this is doing dose not sit well.
I sat threw Voyager and DS9 and i thought Enterprise was bad … but it is ok…
If you who like TNG what about thier first season they had star dates wrong! all data episodes all in a row .
I feal thie Enterprise show will do one of two things!!!
close up by failing on purpose to if thier is a base to make one or two new movies like BIG tv spicals or release them they will try and make enterprise like first contact . Get Frakes in thier . screw it up!!! make the so called new visitors look stupid.

they will realise the only way is to drop the show , rewrite and make new sets in? 2 years then try and make it the way fans want it . Camp but good. closer TOs sets and costums , but you know they might just throw out the first season bad props and come costums flaws.

The “B” is just a redress of the Excelsior(a ship I love by the way[;)]) and many of TNG’s sets are recycled sets that were used for the “Motion Picture” but were really built for a TV series that never made it to the tube![;)]
To all you guys grousing about the “technical” aspects of this series-I remind you of a quote from Shatner-“GET A LIFE”-I have been watching the series since episode #1 way back in the 60’s, on a 21" round tube color TV-no less-I watched every episode of every series-These were fun and great TV escapism. I didn’t stop to analyze if “this” came before that, or a series facts didn’t quite match with what was said in “that” series;
If the warp nacelles were a different color blue two weeks ago on the same ship or if a particular alien had a different shape to the ridge on his chin.
When you start to pick apart and analyze these things down to (minor) details you begin to drive yourself crazy.
I am a scientist, have advanced degrees in geology and taught astronomy, i have built every Star Fleet ship model out there-some more than once.
Trek is good TV, it is good SCI-FI. Once Enterprise ends, it will be the first time in a couple of decades that there won’t be some kind of Trek on the tube-

I respect your complete posting on this issue, and used what I see is the main point of over doing it . But, fan are fans and going crazy might be one area were all are guilty of . So if it is good bye to Enterprise . I say i will miss it .
Only thing is; Will some one not in calble TV . Please put some ? Trek on so i can watch it . I can’t afford that many DVD’s

Yeah, I’m going to miss it too. Before BSG it was the only show I watched weekly.
actually if any of you were watching this seasons enterprise you got to admit there is now more action than the previous seasons and they are getting close to forming the federation and we still do not really know what started the Earth Romulan war. And Lee the Romulan war did start in the Enterprise Timeframe the TOS was set in the 23rd century and Enterprise was set in the 22nd century and TNG,DS9 and Voyager were set in the 24th century.
As for the Klingons, there is an upcoming episode covering the difference.
