In this thread there was interest expressed in establishing a Gunpla & Mecha category as a way to stimulate contributions from this growing community of modelers.
If the category was added, it could perhaps be seeded by pinning these two FSM articles in it?
Thoughts?
There’s already the Science Fiction category here where Gundam/Mechs can be posted.
As a mostly Gundam-focused modeler, I would also love to see this! I’ve been building them for a while, and it would be awesome to get a category for the Gundam/mech genre.
@WhatIfRebel Yea the category exists, but I think that genre has almost grown out of the strictly science fiction terminology. I almost see that in the same way how we have different categories for airliners and aircraft. While they are the same in technical terms, they’re different enough where some distinction is would be helpful!

Thanks, Tojo. But it’s still me. Same guy from back in 2011 when I joined FSM the first time. The forum package makes things easier to admin. I cast no shade at the guys who made the old forums happen. There was a ton of coding that they did and it was all in-house. That team was super overworked and did tremendously with the resources they were given. But Discourse is robust and forums (fora) are its focus, so I’m quite pleased it’s working and working well.
Since I made the request for this category I guess I should build a Gundam model and post it. 
Luckily I have a few to choose from in my stash! May try to squeeze one in while working on my Falke.
