Have to admit, was not my favorite Gundam, but; Bandai really made a nice kit. It is 1/144 scale but the size of this makes it as big as a normal 1/100 kit. I did not venture out of the instructions or add extra detail. The model is painted and I tried to match the colors that the parts were originally except for the inner frame which I did in metallics. Vallejo paints used throughout and top coat of clear flat.
Thanks guys, with all those boosters i donāt think it needs legs. Makes me wonder what kind and how much fuel it uses.
I wonder why there is not as much gundam on here, it seems to be growing here in the states.
Probably all rockets because itās space only. If it isnāt a fusion ion engine of some sort there is no way it could carry enough fuel to move for very long. Maybe using the equivalent of a hydrogen scoop to extend itās fuel supply. Not that real science has much of anything to do with Gundam. LOL
Gundam is definitely growing. It may just be the current composition of the members of the forum. That and the builders may prefer other venues for sharing their work. Like Reddit, Pintrest, Discord, etc.
Who knows maybe if a request was made for a separate Gunpla category on FSM it may generate a bit more activity.
The Zeong is a space-only MS so yeah, no need for legs. That being said, there is a āPerfect Zeongā which does include legs in lieu of those gigantic rocket engines. Kits are available in both 1/144 and 1/100 scale.
Speaking of rocket engines, the ones in the Gundam universe apparently use their fusion reactors to superheat the propellant. The propellant must still be volatile, as so many MS have gone up in big fireballs when the story drama demanded it.
Gunpla has been on a slow burn since the 1980s here in the US, but it has caught fire recently and seems to be heading for mainstream modeling. Iām a glacially slow builder but I have accumulated quite a collection of unbuilt Gunpla kits over the years. As far as the ones I have finished, itās just these:
Iāll try to squeeze in some Gunpla builds into the queue to provide some backup for the genre. With the supply shortage of Gunpla these days, I was thinking of building older kits in the stash like the first MG Zaku. The newer 2.0 version makes the OG kit obsolete, so I thought in a case of reality imitating fiction, maybe use the 1.0 Zaku and make a Zaku Tank. That might be a fun conversion, since Bandai teased us with the prospect of a 1/100 Zaku Tank but never delivered. They are too busy Gquuuuuux-ing.
The amount of Gunpla builds on the forum depends on us, so Spacenoids let us unite! Join together and fight the tyranny of the Earth Federation!
Hoo, Iām gonna get some blowback from all the Feddie sympathizers!
O those are some sweet magellans! Are those the EX model ones? I have a EX dopp fighter that I have built up and collecting dust. I want to modify it but havenāt had too much time lol
I donāt like the federation that much, but the Titans? Asides from their war crimes, their mobile suits are pretty sick
Thanks Phoenix. Looks like it is already taking off. I like those ships and tanks. I have been looking for the main battle tank that has the dual cannons in the turret, i forget what it was called. Might be why i am having a hard time to find it, lol.
