Hi all, the concept of a Reggy GB has been around for a while and after my recent completion of an SM. 79, I feel the time is right to appreciate a few more gorgeous planes from this side of the Axis power.
It seems to me a prt 2 is in order as many of the GB memebers have more planes that need building and theres no better a place for building them than here. Ive subsequently increased the end date to the same time but 2010. (My birthday next year! so get your presents ready) So once again, gird your loins and ready your plastic. The Reggy Aero GB II is set to go.
As ive never hosted a GB before i need all the help i can get from you guys. All i really know is how to glue em together…oh and to talk. I could rabbit for England
The rules. Better do some i spose. Not big on rules, Me.
Must be Italian from WW2…Ta daa, there you go. Oh ive got to have more?
You must post regularly, if you can.
You must persuade as many others who’ve not signed up to join. Preferably through violence.
Part built kits are ok in my eyes, preferably not just needing paint.
All entrants must attempt to produce a fantastic amount of facial hair and sport it in as many different connotations as possible.
I think thats about it. Please feel free to PM me for as much help as you can offer. Oh and whos good at doing a GB badge?
In my ever strange Maelstrom of a brain, i came up with adding a multi-engined GB to this one. (Only cos a bought a superb looking Revell JU 290 and wanted to build it. So come on, im sure almost everyone has a multi engined monster that they are going to build, one day [:-^]. Nows your chance.

I need another hobby, something simpler, like stamp collecting.

deeve ( From Ontario) gave us this link of his newly completed Hasegawa G-4 in RA markings!
Hmmm, what should i build for the GB? OK here it goes, first ill have to finish the old 1/72 Matchbox Macchi M.C.202 that ive started a long time ago and dropped after buying the Italeri 202/205 kits /hope it wont take long t5o finish/, the other one will be the 21st Centurys 1/32 M.C.205 which ill try to turn from a toy into a model /a friend of mine is making a custom PE for me as a christmass present [party] and im planning to use the correct 205 spinner from my PAC models 202 together with a lot of scratch parts/. I just hope to have enough time to finish those, with my curent rate of almost 3 models per year im feeling a little bit scared. And if by some strange mirracle i manage to finish those two birds, theres enough italian birds in my stash. Wohooo here we go!!!
Hey this is starting to look like a real GB. I dont believe it.
Frank the Badge is the schizzel my friend. I love it.
Congo, what a bonus, having a chum who can do PE. I did it a while ago but the shorts didnt fit very well…there were police cars and screaming…I dont want to go into it…
Be damn interesting to see what you can do with the 21st Cent kit
If anyone knows of any good sites foer refs, pics etc. Give me a PM and ill post emn up here near the Beginning so’s everyone can find them.
Hmmm…very tempting. I’ve been thinking lately of doing a 1/48 SM.79 and have been looking around to see if I could get a hold of the Classic Airframes kit, but no luck. The Trumpeter kit is available but I’ve heard it’s got some issues. If anyone has any leads on the CA kit let me know.
I have more than a few builds going on right now, so this is going to have to be something quick and easy. I’m going to do a Tamiya D.520 in captured Italian markings.
Yey Steve, we got ourselves a convoy LOL. Alex, is that sucker 1/48th? Good choice btw, not one of the usuall fare. I like it. Thx for committing considering you have other GB’s on the go.
Well Guy looks like you have managed to round up all of the usual suspects! It should be another great GB. I especially like the rule about enforcing the other rules with a little violence when needed. Nothing works better than a good pounding to keep em’ in line! its a good stress reliever too! I have some really good BW and color photos of the SM 79 if anyone is looking for some camo ideas or reference pics. Here is one of my favorites.
Thoses two are in my collection also. The second one you posted is also one of my favorites. The squadron emblem is pretty cool. The Electric Man. My other favorite squadron emblem is the one from the 162a Squadrigilla of the black cat with the words “warning this car scratches!”
I was considering to keep quiet on this GB’s title but seeing the interest you guys are showing I decided to say what I have to say:
Reggiane was an aircraft manufacturer, like FIAT or Macchi, the correct name for the Royal Italian Airforce is “Regia Aeronautica”.
So if, like I understood from your posts, this build is about the Italian Airforce in WW2 the correct name should be “Regia Aeronautica GB”.
Sorry to burst in this thread to play teacher, but I feel I had to at least tell you.
Who knows, maybe If I complete some of the models I have scheduled I might join this GB … that is if you still want me.
Of course your more than welcome Klaus and thx for putting us straight. Hell, what the heck do i know. All information is good information in my eyes. Illl ammend the front pge accordingly.
Well , im back from the LHS and have the most beautifull bird in the Italian Airforce…
The Macchi C.205 Veltro. yummy yummy. The only slight downer is its in JG77 colours. I think that means i need some decals to Italianise the sucker, Ho hum, heres she is in all her splendor.
