Nice stuff!

My corner of the living room.

You are heavily into aircraft carriers and battleships!

I am temporarily displaced and living in a rental until some work on my place is finished. Hopefully I’ll be able to get back to my place in the next month or so. Still, before I moved, my “office” looked like this.

The building and minor painting was done indoors, but anything that needed to be sprayed was done in the garage.

I’m already thinking about some minor changes to my set-up once we move back.

Very cool!post pics once you move back home and set up your hobby room!

Here’s mine. Desk is messy as usual. Rack houses my shelf queens and a few finished aircraft.

Busy model work station!

Hey O, I’ve been working on a fold out table but really like the looks of yours. Where did you get that one from?

Hi John - I have the identical desk in my shop, same color and drawers, exactly the same. Had it for about 45 years, bought it at the Boeing surplus sales store near Seattle. Easily the most useful and durable item for my shop, a very lucky find.

Your models and shop look great, thanks for the photos.

Patrick

HA! That’s funny because I was eyeballin’ your old school office desk. I would love to have something like that.

Mine? I made it from a few IKEA parts. Two simple legs and a desk top. The back is supported by a 1"x3" strip screwed to the wall. The front simply rests on the two legs. I think I spent less than $100 for the top, legs, and some organizers. When I move back, I may use my mini-fridge as a support at one end and buy a drawer set to support the other. The extra storage wouldn’t hurt. For a top, I may just buy a furniture grade plywood sheet from the hardware store and cut it to size. That way, if I need to, I can just sand out any imperfections/damage. My current desk top is a laminated hollow core fiber board, and it isn’t very durable.

Here is mine:

The desk gets swamped during the middle of a project. The display case need to be dusted. [:$]

And here is where I paint:

The open patio sometimes gets invaded by lovestruck B-52 cockroaches from the yard, who do their version of a flash mob. They suddenly show up, throw a wild kegger, then disappear, leaving only empty beer tumblers.

That’s a steelcase tanker desk / bomb shelter. My second one - so regretted letting the first one go I had to hunt down another. Bought it from a retired HP employee for a great price. No modeling happens on that one - just for compute/bills etc.

Thanks for the intel O. I may go that route

My man cave… for display and relaxation purposes. All building and painting is done in the garage.

NICE…
