This going to be my biggest model ever build. It’s going to be a complete armored train in 1/35 skale.
Full resin kit with some PE and turned bumpers. Actually there is a 6 kits as one: 2 artillery wagons, 2 platforms(flat cars), engine-locomotive and assault wagon.
This train was use in September 1939 in Poland against German… than Russian captured it and than captured by Germans. Last time was seen in 1944 in German hands defending city in Poland against soviets…
2 artillery wagons where equipped with 2 cannons 75 mm each and 2 howitzers-Skoda 100 mm each. Every wagon where equipped with Heavy Machine Guns. All toughener 22 heavy machine guns plus (possibly 2 antiaircraft machine guns on platforms) Flat cars where used to carry spare tracks, tools, ammo, bikes, motorcycles…etc
Poland had many armored trains. Most of them where destroyed or captured by Germans in 1939…Brave was one of the trains that survived till 1944…
In general it was a huge firepower and always bring a lot of distraction anywhere it showed up…
I started it from building the flat cars. Full resin, parts where twisted and bended when the model arrived. HIT GUN was my best friend for many sessions…I used it to hit up the parts and straith them out… On edges of flat cars i had to use metal supporters. L shape brass metal bars to keep the parts in right shape…
Yes I am with you on that…fortunately i have my own room the lady i live with accept my hobby …only sometimes she is saying I am crazy …when she saw the armored train…she ask me: Where you gonna put the BIG BOAT?
The whole kit comes with tracks but they’re out of scale…i will make my own tracks. The metal part will come from trumpeter kit and the wooden part will be made of balsa…
HOLY COW! This is HUGE… I don’t think I have seen a bigger diorama than what you are building in the forum. This is going to be fun to watch… and you better double check with your lady to make sure that she is OK with this. Ladies like to change mind often…
Next -2 artillery wagons. Model has a 3 main segments. 2 ends and middle part. I started cutting the ends and worked to feet to middle part. The artillery wagon has a 4 gun door. I decided to modified and “open” one door. Original photo is from one of the Polish armored trains. It show how the door opens to extend angle of fire…
