Panther G steel wheel FINISHED-lots-o-pics

Doesn’t the Panzer IV I bought just the day before count?

Thanks doog. No they are just on for the photo. I am nervous now… why did you ask

I mean, if you WANT it to count, that’s fine…but one kit hardly qualifies as an “armor-buying binge”. [(-D][(-D]

Doog, that’s a Panther my friend. [:D]

Rick (rjkplasticmodels) has the most post with over 13,400!

Marc, excellent job on the camo. I know how intimidating an ad-lib job can be. You pulled it off nicely.

Marc-

Excellent job on the Panther! Looks like you have a knack for armor as well, just don’t get TOO comfortable over here… we still expect to see winged-things from your bench once in a while! [swg]

So, when do you start with the 1/144 armor? [:D]

Great looking camo paint job on your Panther wing_nut! It looks like you’ve been doing armor for years! BTW, 5000+ posts…wow! Congrats!

Paint job looks top notch. Now for the fun. Tanks don’t stay nice and clean like “wingy Things” [:P] Pin washes (you should be familiar with), But for the best effects look up Doogs tutorial. Honestly keep up the great work,

Mark

Nice work so far WN, you’ll find that armor has a lot more surface area than a wingy-thingy and will consume far more paint in the process as well. Looking forward to what you do with it from here on out. [tup]

Thanks guys.

Why do I all of a sudden feel like I have only don the easy part of this[sigh]

[(-D] He might be alluding to the weathering. Different mentality with armor as opposed to clean looking A/C. it definitely takes guts to slop up a nice clean looking build.

Tigerman’s right, getting the paint job on and camo scheme applied is just the first step, unless of course you’re going for the factory-fresh appearance. [:D]

uh,…boy do I feel stoooopid! [:-^][(-D]

Ha ha! Musta been late? I just asked about the wheels cuz I thought they’d be awfully hard to paint the rims and weather them fully if you’d glued them on–good to hear that ya didn’t! [:D]

My nice clean tank got all dirty

Actualy… DIRTY IS A BLAST! With an aircraft they say “less is more”. But in armor apparently more is more[:P] Had to stop myself before I over did it. I didn’t over do it did I? All comments and critiques welcome.

Wingnut, I know armor is modeling with training wheels, so get back to the hangar!

You look like a pro there Marc. I like the rust on the muffler guards.

How can I say it, Hmmmmmm…

That’s it!

Clean but dirty, does that make any sense?

It looks like your Panther is really coming along fine. I like it.

Nice crop of roadwheels ya’ got coming up there.

Don’t forget the shine on the outer lip of the inner roadwheels.

Steve

Wow Marc - coming along really well! I like the back glacis - exhausts look spot on, and the mud buildup is good. Don’t stop now! Get it messy! [(-D]

Looking good, not overdone at all. Only suggestion I would offer is to perhaps tone down the shiney look to the pry-bar on the left side of the hull, but that could also be your photo lighting making it look brighter. [tup]

Looks fantastic Marc. Your a pro. I pity the next AC you build. Gonna be pure filth lol.

…Guy

“PURE FILTH” HAAAAAAAhahhahaaaaahhahahahhaaaaa…you’re killing me, Lufty. [(-D][BH]

Thanks everybody.

Bill, the steel paint on the bar was still wet when i snapped the pics… the steel rims too Steve[:D] I forgot to paint the rims before the weathering[:(!]

Guy, I just just am not sure WHEN that next aircraft build may take place[:O][;)]

(don’t tell the a/c guys I said that)
