I’ve finally been able to get back to my workbench and continue with this build. My last update was in Oct 2009 and I had to put the build on hold until about a month ago because my wife and I built and moved into a new house at the end of 2009. We did, and are still doing, a lot of work on the house, including my new hobby room in the basement. We’re finishing the basement ourselves and the first part was my room, and now it’s done, mostly.
This is the Eduard’s Shark Mouths Over China kit, 1/48 scale. Some of you may remember the previous build updates, or not, it has been almost 18 months since I last posted progress. This link is to the last update in Oct 2009 and earlier progress updates.
I’m almost done and have spent the last couple months attaching some of the little parts like the landing gear, brake lines, gear doors, drop tank, etc. I still have some stuff to attach; the flaps, gun sight, antenna, and machine gun blast tubes and barrels.
Ja, mei, mei Bua! Looks great, I like your work on the panel lines, not over-done and not over-weathered, just looks like a well-used machine, looking forward to more progress pics!
Thanks for all the comments, I really appreciate them.
I like the Shark Mouth P-40s but I’m a huge fan of the WWII pin-up nose art and that’s the primary reason I chose to build this P-40N. I have a pretty decent collection of 1/48 scale nose art decals.

The white is all sprayed on with Model Masters flat white. The only I thing I brush paint are the small details to touch up after attaching the smaller pieces.
