I finally overhauled my model stash. I had stuff in about 3 different places and not very organized. Now it’s in good order in one spot. Feels great.
Do you think this is too many kits? I have a problem maybe? It would be cool to see other stashes and compare.

No definitly not too bad,I don’t have any recent pictures,but I’m between 30-40 right now.
I like the tri-color camo pattern on the big kitty,she came out nice,maybe needs a little weathering though. [;)]
“Too many kits” is just a phrase coined by wives to keep us in check, in the same fashion we adults use the “boogie man” to get children to behave.
Defiantly not to many, as if there is such a thing. My stash is all in box’s so its awkward to get pics of. last tie I checked it was around 200, not including figures, 72nd vehicles and other bits. I don’t think its changed much.
Wow 200 is up there! Lol. I think I am around 100. I have quite a few individual figures like Metal Modeles, Bravo 6 and Warriors. Not too many big kits. I do have a big Queen Mary kit for some reason!? Maybe I was drinking that [:P]night
I just did a quick count as I have them all in a word doc. 250 (ish). I thought I had done well and cut it down a bit.

And you have them documented in Word? Are they alphabetized or grouped by type/scale? That’s serious. I like it. I have actually bought the same kit twice a couple of times because I didn’t realize I already had it!
They are listed by type, then scale and then broken down further. I have several documents including one where I list the AM for each kit, others where I can see if I have a dio planned and what it is. I have bought AM stuff i already had and started kits without having all the bits i wanted. I want to make sure i have the dio planned, all the AM, figures and everything else before i start a build.
There are on line stash organiser’s where you can list where you bought the kit, how much and so on. But I have found these word doc’s work fine for me.
I know for a fact that Rex (former member here on FSM) has far more than 200 kits in his stash.
Yours is just the beginning so that stash will magically grow over time.
Two hundred kits is a mere bag of shells. I have a friend who had as of 4 years ago over 3,000 kits in boxes, all in 1/72 scale. [:S] I’m afraid to ask him what the current count is.
My mancave closet is holding about 220 kits. There is an additional 20-30 in the garage shelves. I think this is more than enough as I refrain from purchasing more but the prices at some shows are too hard to resist. That same kit I pick up at a show for $5, and later on decide not to build, I can allways sell it on eBay for $10 or $15.
I am the model of restraint. Pun intended. 41 72nd scale. 69 48th scale. 3 200th scale 27 144th scale. 7 cars 1 ship and 1 1/12 scale cockpit. Decals and AM galore. John
I have about 450 kits, maybe 20% have been started. I’ll probably not build them all but whenever I’m at a loss as to what to do next, I can find something to start or a started kit to continue. My stash includes all sorts of cars, trucks, planes, tanks, artillery, oil rigs, deep sea research vessals, buildings, and in all materials, plastic, wood and paper. The luxury of this is that if I stall out on one project I can set it aside and start something new. If I see a movie or a news story that inspires me chances are I have a kit i can build of that subject. It doesn’t get better than this!

Jeez, I have about 5 in progress and I’ll probably never finish and 5 on the shelf and I thought that was a lot. Speaking of, I start projects and never finish them. Sometimes I’ll get bored, go to the shop and pick up another 1 or 2. Keep the one I abandoned and it just takes up spacell bc I don’t want to just trash it 50 bucks down the toilet.
Wow that’s interesting. I could never have more than 1 build going at a time. Even when I get tired of it I push through and finish it before I start something new. I probably have OCD’s however
I am the same. I have tried haveing 2 or 3 going at once but i just can’t do it.I find i end up focusing on just one build and the otehrs get ignored.
LOL guys, I play with 2 to 5 at a time specially when doing commission work Or partaking in GBs. I just rotate them as in letting parts dry on one while I work on another and so on. I usually like to stay at 1 to 3 max. if I can help it.

my stash is all tetris’d into half my closet…all 140 kits! Ive got a spreadsheet in excell that tracks everything I buy and build
i have 300 in the bunker i want to build, another 400 in the garage (auctions, bulk sales, give aways). i can go through the bunker stash and follow my interests as they changed (arab-Israeli, JGSDF, PLA, Korean, modern warwheels, modern naval, diniosaurs, RR, fire fighting) my frau says i’m good as long as both cars fit in the garage.
