Well the complete set has arrived! I have a vision for these on a shelf that looks like a carrier deck with these three aircraft sitting next to each other with the wings folded and I think it’ll be pretty dramatic looking in 1/48 scale. I’ll have a few flight crew and tractors and things running around.
I’m going to call it “The Eyes, Ears & Shield”
It’s an ambitious goal that I expect a full year of building on these to get everything completed.
I’ve always loved the non-fighter aircraft.

Have to agree about the EW aircraft, pretty cool. “The Eyes, Ears and Shield” love it! Watching this one 
Interesting, I had to look up what that was and I thought I knew most every naval jet aircraft there was. Looks like the trumpeter is the only real kit in 1/48th scale. Now you’ve got me interested.
Just came in. I’ve wanted one of these for a long time. I finally ran across one at a decent price.
This image demonstrates just how massive this aircraft is. Even in 144th scale it is almost 21 inches long.
I ordered this kit off eBay for a good price last week and it arrived today…
Was having a casual chit chat with some apartment neighbors this morning when one of them asks if I’d like a model kit that he no longer was interested in. I said Sure, bring it over.
I’m mostly a ship modeler. But if the guy doesn’t want it, don’t look a gift horse in the mouth. 
It was free, after all. All the parts bags are still sealed. Nothing missing.
This became very attached to me as I walked by the clearance shelf in Micheal’s. I don’t really need it as I already have a version of this one, but I was in need of some decals and these are close to what I wanted.
Traveling today in Denver for my step daughter’s wedding and stopped in to my favorite Denver hobby shop to find exactly the kit I was looking for in their used section. It has about $150 worth of AM stuff in the box and was otherwise complete other than the cockpit has been started. By started, I mean the floor, and console (4 parts total) have been assembled, prepped for the AM instruments and primed. Picked it all up for $90 (marked down from $109)
I initially thought the cockpit parts were missing, so the guy was going to give it all to me for $50, but then I found the parts in the Quinta box and I told the truth, so we settled on $90.
I feel like I got a greet deal on a kit I had been looking for.
I’m going to build this scene from a photo I saw on a documentary.
Probably need another hobby like I need a hole in the head, but current circumstances (i.e. an eight month old) demand a quick pick-up put-down craft that doesn’t involve odorous solvents or thinners…
Fortunately I have a bunch of unpainted Warhammer 40K miniatures that have been burning a hole in the top of the army case for about a decade. I couldn’t bring myself to reinvest in more Citadel Paints however, owing to their positively woeful shelf life.
Anyway, I hear these have a decent pedigree for miniature painting and were heavily discounted…
The Corsair came from China on ebay,no tariff,fast shipping and better then any price in the states,looks great in the box,if it builds like their Booker,it should be great.
The supplies are my 1st order from Hobbylinc,they had the Squadron paint which has the correct color for a late war Corsair.
Nice! I’ve yet to try a Magic Factory kit. I like Hobbylinc - they’ve been great.
I use them daily, they work well for me.
So tricky to get the correct blue for that aircraft. Glad they had it.
What kind of paint is Scale Colors? What is it similar to?

I wasn’t really looking for kits but…ok.
..I’m weak, I gave in to my urges.
I met a ton of enthusiasts, the guy from the FSM u-tube show, the Zouki mura crew, the Eduard crew, the Squadron shop crew…we were there for two days and I am wiped out from being on my feet almost the entire time.
I absolutely going to join the Bay City I.P.M.S. chapter to add to my skillset.
Ok…I’m still scattered from the trip so…tomorrow I’m picking a direction and run with it.
Great haul! I did a different boxing of the Sea Fury. It’s a nice kit. What is the first kit? A prototype F-117?
Yes it is “have blue” which was the proof of concept test article.
First kit of it I ever seen, even in 1/48 it is tiny.
