CultTVMan got these back in stock. I really wanted the 1/144 Revell kit after reading the great reviews. I have the AMT 1/200 kit but read it’s got issues so probably sell that one.

Mark, what an interesting solution for painting your Titanic hull. I’ll be interested to know how it works out. What made you choose the inflatable vs. a tent-type spray booth?
As for recent arrivals, I took delivery of the new Tamiya 1:48 Bf-106 Gustav boxing, which includes Finnish markings for Eino Luukkanen’s famous “white zero” G-6. He shot down 56 Soviet aircraft during the war, including 39 in G-2 and G-6 type 109s.
Then Model Expo offered a 50% discount for their entire store, and somehow this ended up in my stash.
In my defense I’ll post a stanza of what might be Stan Rogers’ best maritime poetry:
Feel her bow rise free of Mother Sea
In a sunburst cloud of spray
That stings the cheek while the rigging will speak
Of sea-miles gone away
She is always best under full press
Hard over as she’ll lay
And who will know the Bluenose in the sun?
And just in case anyone else is wooden-ship-model curious like me, Model Expo’s sale is going through tomorrow and applies to backorders, too.
The tent type are generally smaller. With the inflatable I got I can get right in there and move around quite easily. Also that it can fully enclose. I’m wearing a hazmat suit and a respirator when I’m in there spraying.
Still only used it the once. I need another can of the red, for a second coat, which I just got at my LHS yesterday.
Your Bluenose looks like a ton of fun!
Cheers,
Mark
Having only done a Super Sabre a couple of times from the old Monogram kit, I almost picked up a Trumpeter 1/48 kit at a Dallas-area shop a couple of months back. But I really prefer building jets in 32nd when I can - and can justify with a spot already set aside for display - so I grabbed this Trumpeter F-100C on eBay. It was a Chinese seller, and I didn’t expect to receive it until August, but it came yesterday.
The box was a little beaten up in the lower right corner, but the contents are in great condition. This one will probably hit my to-build stash sooner than typical for new additions to the stash. I’m thinking some time next year.
Went over to my best friend’s house to help his wife clean and organize stuff in his house due to all the hoarding he did. Found the following kit which the wife said I could have.
Did you get the New Ware paint masks? I picked up the Artemis kit from Steve at WonderFest, but had to order the paint masks after the show.
I haven’t but I’ll look. I wonder if they will work on the Revell kit. One of the reasons I liked the Revell kit is the very nice decal sheet that should alleviate a lot of masking.
Lots of aftermarket pieces coming soon!
NEW: Artemis America 250 decal - 1:144 scale from Paragrafi
Paragrafix is also doing a 3D printed 3rd stage and capsule!
Very cool! Indycals does an Artemis II mission specific decal set. It’s for Airfix but they are talking about doing a Revell set as well. They are currently on hiatus until September so I’ll wait and see.
Thanks, I’ll have to keep them in mind!
Part 2 of 3 for a huge diorama I’m working on. I’ll be working on this well into 2027.
For those of you who don’t memorize my projects, part 1 is an EA-6B.
Part three is in route, any guesses?
Cool! I’ve got the latest boxing of this kit - following.
Next…hmm what decade? Maybe an E2-C or an SH-3?
You are so good! Next in is the E2-C. All three will be built with the wings folded sitting on the flight deck.
I’m a big fan of electronic warfare aircraft, I love the non-glamorous, but vital role they play. They don’t get the attention the F-14 or F-18s do but to me they are even more interesting.
AW… I was hoping for a KA-3B Skywarrior… That would be huge…
Very cool. I assume 1/48 like your other birds so - Kinetic?
Yes, going to be a huge display.
There’s some folks on here that can give you some tips like @Aggieman . My understanding is that kit has it’s challenges.
Looking forward to the finished display!
I expect it will considering it’s age and brand. But it was the only game in town for that particular aircraft. I would love any advice anyone wants to give.
