Our Latest Acquisitions Since 2017

I have built both of those Tamiya kits. Both are great. The 219 is a big bird, but it remains one of the best camo paint jobs I’ve ever done.

I added another 3D printed starship model. This one is War Rocket Ajax from Flash Gordon (1980).

My latest acquisition is - pneumonia! That’s why I have been pretty inactive these past few weeks. I thought only old people caught it in hospitals. Or if you are to believe the scare-mongering Asian moms, playing out in the rain or going to sleep with wet hair.

I got mine as a follow-on from a bug that one of my coworkers brought into the office. EVERYONE got sick. When I started getting worse after a few days, I went to the doc where I got the bad news. I never had pneumonia, despite ignoring my mother’s constant warnings not to play in the rain or go to bed with wet hair.

I’m hoping to be fully recovered by next week, as I’m off to Japan, where I will definitely have some new stuff to show!

Pnuemonia is no joke…I’ve had it five times. I wish you a very speedy recovery!

That looks amazing – you should be proud! In fact it actually DEmotivates me attempting the build…

Oofda, as we say in Minnesota. Rest up and get better before your trip!

It is a great kit. Don’t let the paint scheme demotivate.

Yeah, I was definitely not laughing. I knew it was something serious as I have never had congestion like that. It was miserable, as I could not sleep flat on my back for more than a week.

I sincerely hope you never get it again, but once you’ve had it you’re susceptible to get it again. Avoid sick people at all cost!

Yikes! I should have taken the vaccine when I had the chance.

Fitting day to get more parts for this Max Verstappen #3 AMG GT3 build. All I need is the decals!

Very cool. Didn’t know he drove anything outside of F1.

Looks gorgeous and I’m not ready a car guy!

He has been doing a lot of endurance racing on his SIM, and last year got his NLS license to race in that series. He actually competed in the 24 hour nurburgring this weekend. He was 30 seconds up on the field with 3 hours remaining and the car lost a drive shaft. The guy drives the hell out of anything he sits in. Its crazy.

Sure is good. The new mercedes driver kimi is super impressive

Hey Kitzo, wishing you a speedy recovery! I broke my right arm and wrist back in 4th grade and it was no fun.

Love that Tamiya PAK 40, one of my earliest experiences with a Tamiya kit!

I built the PAK 40 last year, finished it with a base in about two weeks. Really fun kit.

Score from the antique store!
Found the following kit in an antique store today. Got it for $25. And it’s still shrink wrapped too!
I’ve had an idea kicking around in my head the last several months of building a Galaxy class starship into a civilian passenger/cruise liner. The Galaxy class starship is certainly big enough. It generally carries a crew of 1,012 personnel and passenger complement of at least 6,000. That’s comparable to some of the large ocean going cruise ships on Earth.
Probably won’t start on it till next year. Need to plan how I’ll build it, paint it, get new decals, etc.

I must profess that I have a problem - I love P-40s.

This one goes along with unbuilt 4 32nd scale kits (1 B-variant by Great Wall Hobby and 3 E-variants by Revell), several 48th scale kits (B, C, E, K variants by Bronco, Eduard, Monogram, Monogram Pro-Modeler ), and 1 72nd scale kit (N-variant). And on top of 9 built P-40s - Monogram P-40N 1/72, with the rest being 48th scale - Academy P-40C, AMT/Ertl P-40E & P-40F, Hasegawa P-40E, Mauve P-40N, Monogram P-40B x2, and Trumpeter Tomahawk (which was a P-40B).
