I guess I got confused as I meant to order the 500 pack (which is a lifetime supply for me) for $6 but received the 1000 pack which is $9.95 which still a great deal!

Not me; I can stop any time I want.
This is the haul from our last club meeting, in which members bring a bunch of kits from their stash to donate, and then we auction them to each other for pennies on the dollar, for the benefit of the club. I brought a box of about 20-25 kits, mostly older 72nd scale warbirds – I’m making the switch to 48th. Since I came home with only 8 kits, I’m calling that a move in the right direction. Of course the boxes are bigger at the larger scale, so I’m not saving any space. 
@Nomads that Hellcat is surely the same mold as this one I just got – it looks excellent from a quick peek in the box. Should be a treat to build. Same for this Spitfire, which I understand is THE classic Spit kit. The Eduard Weekend biplanes should be a nice toe into the water of WWI and wire rigging; the Modelsvit and ICM Soviet fighters are really nicely detailed but the quality of the fit remains to be seen.

Well, I said I wasn’t going to do it, and I truly meant it, right up until I found a great deal on a mint Catalina on ebay.
Couldn’t let it slip away.
This baby is huge (1/48th F-4 thrown in for scale) and based on initial inspection, beautifully molded and the decals look perfect.
I’m thinking I’ll do a out of box build on this one for a change.

I agree! My kit is 8221 and the only difference I saw was mine has the nose art for the only Navy plane in WWII to have nose art, though for a short time until an Admiral freaked.

Yes, I’ve been following along and it inspired me to get this actually. Yours is 1/72nd yes? I almost got that, but for better or worse, so far I’m 100% 1/48th fleet. Not sure how I’m going to display this thing with a 3ft wingspan though? Might have to hang it.
That’s what I was looking at too! Both of mine are 1/72 and my wind span is well over 2 ft and have no clue where to put it Personally I like planes with gear out instead of flying. When I was looking at PE for the Revell PBY, there weren’t that much so I put it in the stash and got the Academy version. FYI, when gluing the fuselage I started at the rear to the back windows. Then from the windows to the wing support then the rest. I found it easier to “lift” the top of the fuselage together instead of using elastics. Once it hardened, I put it down overnight to cure.

Yeah I I’m going to build mine with the wheels up configuration and probably hang it from the ceiling that way it’s like it’s flying.
These guys arrived today,will use a few of them in my Jagdpanzer IV dio and the rest wil be in reserve for other builds.
They packed them up nice so I don’t have to go crazy trying to figure what arms go where.

That’s a nice set Tony. Who makes them? If reasonable I’d like to buy a set for practice. I did that with some DML sets back in the day.

Second time taking advantage of Megahobby.com going out of business sale. They are low on colors but what they have is mostly pretty cheap.

Sadly it’s been a slow couple of weeks at the bench between committments at home, and a nasty virus that’s blitzed the household (including the 5 month old baby, whose first time being sick has been pretty unpleasant for all involved…). But in some good news, our 3D-Printed 1:76 Panther tracks have arrived from Super-Hobby (Poland), and they look great!
We took the opportunity to pick up a few other items from their extensive inventory including:
- Airfix flying bases
- Wheel and Cockpit masks for a 1:72 Mitsubushi Zero (my Japanese GB entry!)
- PE Upgrade Set for Tamiya 1:48 M1A2 Abrams
It’s great when a business gets things right 100% of the time, but the true test is how a business responds when things don’t go to plan. Super-Hobby team handled my issue with the FC Model Trend tracks extremely well, and any delays were at FC Model Trend’s end. Give them a try - They have an excellent and cost-effective range of complete kits and aftermarket upgrades.
Looking forward to clearing the current WIP’s as the next round are getting very exciting!

I forgot to post these. They were some of my raffle winnings at the recent model show in Anniston put on by the Phantom Phlashers. There were several more, but mostly modern jets. I distributed them to lucky show goers. Not sure why I kept these, as I’ve got more models than I know I’ll never complete. But just in case…

I finally had to replace my compressor,it developed a leak in the tank which I repaired with JB Weld,it has lasted four years now,but the tank developed another one,so I decided it was time,I got this from Spraygunner.

I swear, I haven’t purchased a model since my last post… but the auction items from the 48 in 48 event last month showed up. 
I have yet to build a 109, and this one would sure pair nicely with the Hurricane that’s nearing completion. Looks to be a rather quick build, too, if I let it.
The He 219 was bundled in with the Emil, and I’m not sure yet if I’ll keep it or trade/donate it to the local club – the subject is interesting but not high on my list. That said it’s supposed to be a phenomenal kit.
Oh, I also got one of those Scale Reference Tools made by Models for Heroes.
