Ordering at Luckymodel.com

Hey guys, I have an order waiting to be shipped at Luckymodel.com, and it seems to be taking longer than usual. They have confirmed the order and received payment, but have not yet shipped anything. Have any of you had a problem with them?

I’ve never personally ordered anything, but I know people who have and they’ve never had a problem. I wonder if they were out of stock and are waiting to replenish before shipping? Have they actually received the money? i.e. has it been charged against your credit card or Paypal account?

Only thing I recall hearing is that if it says “In Stock” it usually ships pretty quick, but if it only says “Available” it takes longer, as they have to order it.

Hope it gets to you soon!

Just give them a shout, and the will get back to you in a day or two.

I’ve ordered 3 times. If its in stock they ship pretty quickly, but if not it can take a while. In August I ordered an Italeri M47 and a DML King Tiger (BotB). Both said AVAILABLE at the time of the order. The M47 finally shipped in October, but the KT was still on backorder until last week when I decided to just cancel it. I will definitely order from them again, but only if it says IN STOCK!!

I believe they have an option to ship what’s in stock or wait for everything to ship together. In either case, I’ve ordered 3 or 4 times from time, mostly trouble free. If there’s any problems, they answer emails fairly quickly, just take into account the 12hr time difference between US eastcoast & Hong Kong.

I’ve ordered with them before, but I hadn’t run into this. I’ll have to check and see whether the kits are “available” or if they have them.

Alright, I checked my order again and found that they had shipped three of the items. Two other items were dropped(quantity ordered changed to 0) and the cost of shipping remained the same. I emailed support@luckymodel.com to get some answers.

When ever I order from the WWW I always put down in the comment section…do not substitute, do not back order, ship order whole. Seems to work.

Oh yes, the two items that did not ship are on backorder. They are Dragon 6255 M4A3(76)W BoB and Dragon 6271 Advance to the Rhine. I wouldn’t think these items would take very long to return to stock.

They tell me it could take three or more months to restock!

Hey Mortar-

I’ve got 2 complete sets of the Advance to the Rhine… You’re welcome to one of them. I don’t have any plans for 'em.

Thank you, I appreciate the offer.[:)]

I’ve never had any problems with them in past, but I never order anything that isn’t in stock.

The good folks at Luckymodel.com have been very swift and responsive about this whole situation. They have excellent customer service. I had them cancel the items, and the refunded me the cost of the kits and adjusted the shipping cost, as well. In the future, I will avoid items that are not IN STOCK.

…umm, their customer service seems ok. However, I have more and more trouble with them. The original order cost $133.44. I have found that I was charged $137.94…twice! The items I canceled made the order $83.27. This makes the overcharge nearly $200![:(!] I’ve contacted them to refund this balance. We’ll see what happens.[sigh]

Sorry to hear about your bad luck with LuckyModel. I remember my first order wouldn’t go through because of some credit card verification problem that I never encountered before. Its seems they are hit & miss. I hope you get your full refund!

If they don’t refund me, I’ll put the charges in dispute.

Ok, all has worked out. I’ve received the models, the accounts are balanced, and I’m only waiting for the refunds to post. All things considered, I think they are worth another shot. The initial problem was one of my doing. The double charge must have been due to the communications difficulties from the earthquake in the region; they use an outside agent to process credit card transactions. The service was always prompt, sometimes within the hour.

SteveM, I think I’ll take you up on that offer.[:D] I’ve sent you a private message, we’ll work something out. Please let me know, even if you’ve changed your mind. I really appreciate the offer. Thank you.

Glad everything worked out for you MortarMagnet! I certainly hope to buy from them again!
