Thanks Vance, just need a little time and I’ll get over it .
I did do a little work on the Viggen tonight, still for every seam I’m fixing I seem to be finding two more.

Sorry, Vance. Fighting with the Amiot burned me out for a couple weeks, but I’m making slow progress again. On that note, my Saab 17 showed up the other day! Tried to post pictures, but ever since the last website change, I have a really hard time posting photos. One of these days I’ll figure it out again…
Ok, I think I got the photo thing figured out again, so here goes…
Ohhhhhhhhhh, cool SR! Are you doing the floatie version? When I finally get around to my kit it’s screaming FLOATIE at me!
I know, those gorgeous floats are calling to me too, BUT…
I really like the unique look of the B17’s landing gear, and I want to do unusual operators of aircraft, so I think I will try to do the Ethiopian version. I’ve never done NMF before though…
Looking forward to seeing this odd one built up - have you had a chance to dry-fit anything yet?? Everything looks good, y’know, as far as I can tell from the pics! Think I need to get moving on my J21 again tonight. Hmmmm - may contact you back-channel if you happen to have any “un-needed decals”… [;)]
I love the decal sheet on that B17, reason to get one or two I think. I’ll look forward to seeing it.
Cheers
Tony
I haven’t done anything to it yet other than pull it out of the box. Still struggling with the Amiot for the Fench GB. But I agree, everything about the kit (other than the confusing exploded directions) looks fantastic!
OK, been awhile since I showed ANYTHING on this one, so I’ll post up the preliminary pics as well.
The kit:
Good shapes & basic fit seems fine with a tape-up:
Decent little seat for 1/72. Won’t be much visible anyway, but I added some tape-belts…
Seat almost finished up, dullcoat & quick was is up next…
In an attempt to keep the twin booms aligned properly, I’m getting those done up & glued into place BEFORE adding the fuselage section. I’m also assuming this has tail-sitter potential, so I’ve added a couple of lead sinkers just ahead of the booms, inside the wings. A few more can be added to the nose if needed.
And I had help last night. Not unusual, except it has become apparent that…
Nice!
Did you paint on some instruments?
Almost looks that way in the photo.
BTW…American science and surplus
http://www.sciplus.com/index.cfm
is selling Swedish language USB keyboards ( well, their Geneva Il location has 'em ) in case you become a REALLY BIG SAAB GROUPIE
Yep, the IP has (wait, do you have this one?) a few instrument outlines in the upper 1/2, which I drybrushed, but nothing below. Looked too empty to me, so I dipped a toothpick into some thick Testors gloss black and added some dots. Once she’s sealed up… well, close enough.
Waiting for the nice b17 prpgress i see a j-21 from canada!
where’s my viggen?
Your Viggen, or my Viggen?!?! [;)]
Hoping to pick up my pace once the summer activities have slowed down.
Cat ate it… [bgr]
Mine i suppose [;)]
nope… no cats allowed in the workbench room after the revell gannet hot days [aln]
Dogs allowed but no cats… their jumps can be really dangerous when leaving cockpits on workin aera [8-|]
Need to return on workbench with my usual afternoon/nights/dawn workin hours [:D]
And pieces from 1/72 kits are just big enough that they can be played with. [:'(]
Vance nice work on the J21A.
Ok, here’s photos finally of the Viggen. Sorta coming along, probably need to replace a bunch of panel lines I sanded off. Anyway the tail and canards are finally on her…
BTW: Since Vance has a black cat to sit in his lap as opposed to Blofeld’s white cat does that make Vance the good mastermind???
No wonder your Viggen is coming along so slowly, you’ve been working on a quilt at the same time! [;)] I don’t see much in the way of putty, must be fitting alright? And yes, I am the polar (Canadian!) opposite of Ernst Blofeld!
Hah! Making a quilt? More like napping on it [|-)] You don’t see the putty as much since I used mostly Mister Surfacer which is almost the same shade as the plastic. Mostly putting the Surfacer on the seam, letting it dry ten-twenty minutes, and then removing the excess by stroking it with a cotton swab loaded with Mister Thinner. Only way I could get away without sanding pretty much all the detail off.
mh… i see, one viggen founded there
This night will try to work me too
