Never look for the Easter bunny and the reason(s) why

This is a project I plan (plan) to complete by Easter Sunday. My interpretation of the Easter bunny and why you should never try and look for it.

I’m using the dog from the ICM kit #16102.

This will be heavily modified :drop_of_blood: :hocho: :carpentry_saw: :drop_of_blood:

The arms and legs have been repositioned by candle light :candle:

I’m bizarrely curious!

I saw the Easter bunny yesterday! He was sleeping on the side of the road. Don’t know how he was comfortable though since it looked like a very awkward position.

Don’t you Canadians give sleeping bags to bunnys sleeping on the street?

The project in my head is awesome. What will actually build out is what I hope will look as good

Yeah, I’m always asking the Mrs. why cats find it so comfortable taking naps in the road like that

We are prepared yes.

This build is really starting to look interesting and I’m going to keep following along closely. Good luck with the rest of the project.

This is looking so cool and I can’t wait to see the next update. Any plans on how you’re going to fill the gap by the neck?

Yes, putty. Lots of putty

Putty build up is starting to look like the legendary Weirdwolf :wolf:

More putty fur to come with rabbit ears as well.

:rabbit2:

Final putty fur layer on. I should have sculpted the putty on in sections but I tried doing everything all at once. The ears, tail, and overall fur.

The fur layer is thin enough that it will not sag during cure time but the tail is solid wet putty so it had enough weight to sag. I got tired of holding it until it cured so I balanced the figure upside down in this haphazard position.

It rests on the nose and front paws. To keep it from tumbling over onto its back I positioned an alligator clip from a set of helping hands to block the feet.

Obviously I have no experience in sculpting.

I’m going to add a little boy from the AK35016 set for scale. The boy that looks like he stood up too fast and got a head rush so he stopped and hunched over and put his hands on his knees  :face_with_spiral_eyes:

He’ll hold a bucket that the painter kid is holding so I had to perform more surgery :carpentry_saw: :drop_of_blood: by cutting off their hands and switching them.

…more on this later

This is going to be the best “Easter” decoration ever! I think that your putty work looks very good. Do you think that it will be completed in time for Easter Sunday?

Thanks for your comment. I’m hoping to be done by Sunday but maaaaybeeee not. If not then I’ll just have to change the title of the project thread to "Never look for the Easter Bunny AFTER Sunday"

This bunny has creepy clawed hands Meade from stretched sprue. Glued on with CA and coated in coats with Mr. Surfacer 500 until creepy.

@SprueOne
With those claws, your Easter Bunny wouldn’t happen to be related to the menacing rabbit from Monty Python and the Holy Grail, would it? :rabbit2:
