Just discovered the 2025 IPMS Nationals are in Hampton, VA this year. That’s only a 3-3.5h drive, so I may take one or both kids for an overnight to check it out. If the stars align, we might even be able to fly up (75 min flight!) and leave the plane at Newport News/Williamsburg…

You’re going to love it! Every modeler owes it to themselves to go to at least one national convention. Take lots of pictures and bring lots of cash.

Agreed. The 2024 IPMS/USA Nats last year was my first Nats and I enjoyed it. I made it my personal mission as a modeler to go to at least one Nats in my life.
I wish I could go to more, but the costs would kill me. Would love to go to Hampton. All that wonderful naval history, military bases, the USS Wisconsin battleship museum, and so much more. If I could go to Hampton, I’d be taking every one of my ship models there, especially all my Iowa battleship models. 
Man, what an opportunity for you again Daniel. Won’t be able to make that one as it’s too far away. I completely had a blast at the one in New Braunfels a couple of years back. If you do end up going take plenty of pictures as I’d love to see 'em.

Bumping this just to see if anyone else is thinking about it. Although, after my last couple of weeks of travel/etc., I’m hedging a bit on my plans. Too much walking over 10 days of SAR training and Sun ‘n’ Fun, my knees are making noises and I’ve got an ortho appointment in the morning…
gomeral, your health and safety is the most important thing BUT if you can swing it, you’ll love attending an IPMS National Convention.
Bit too far for me-- but I am planning on heading to Camp Hill, PA for the AMPS Nationals next month.
Jeeves, are the AMPS Nationals always held in the same location or do they move it around each year?
They move it around based on which chapters bid on hosting it. It is usually in the East but was in South Bend last year.

Not sure…it’s not an impossibility. An AMPS chapter out there just needs to initiate the bid if they can meet the criteria. This link has some details for anyone interested…
Bumping for conversation, but I’m not sure I’m going to make this one. Turns out I’ll be traveling basically the entire month of July, and I suspect I’ll be burned out and want to spend some time in my own bed! Anyone local that can share photos?
