This is Tamiya’s Panther G late. It’s my first time using PE and indy tracks. I added brass tube cable holders to the upper rear of the hull replicating photos I’ve seen.

Coming along. Did you use the Doog’s track tutorial? How did it work for you if you did? Did you pirate the barrel?
Wayne, she’s looking good, looking forward to your build. Two “G” builds going at the same time, cool.
doc
Tigerman, that’s the kit barrel with my favorite auto primer. Used it to work out the seams. I couldn’t for the life of me find an AM one out here. I did use the Doog’s toot. Worked like a charm! I am no longer hesitant about indy links but will continue to take it sloooow.
doc, it’s that old espn thing going on eh? What are your plans for camo? I have a notion to try the “disc” scheme on this one.
Eduard makes a fantastic one-piece barrel including the muzzle-brake. Way nicer then the Jordio Rubio one.
Glad the tute helped, I intend to try it someday.
That’s a great looking kitty you’ve got there, where is doog’s toot?
Thanks, Jim.
Use the search function for “doogs track tutorial” or some such variation. It is real simple and works well.

Looking good so far Wayne, glad to hear you’ve conquered your fear of the indys. [;)]
Nice progress so far, don’t sweat the magic tracks they aren’t too difficult, but good luck on the PE,I just can’t deal with the small clamps, hope you do better then me.
That Panther is coming along very nicely, I cant wait to see it finished
Top Job
Looks sharp so far…Good luck for rest…
Ok, thanks a bunch!
Thanks, Jim.
Looking really good. Keep us posted.
After much thought I will be using the disc scheme on this one. I am working 'till Saturday morning so I am going to start that afternoon by practising on the schurzen. I’ll go SBS and post results.
Wish me luck!
Agentg…I believe I have this Eduard barrel in my stash and no kit to marry it with. I’d like to see if on this kitty versus collecting dust in my storage closet. If you like I can send it to you free of charge just PM me your address. I’m just getting back into the hobby after a few years forced hiatus (work & wife) and I don’t know when or if I’ll ever need it.
Heater,
PM inbound.
Agentg, package will be in the mail on Monday…enjoy!
HEATER, THANK YOU!!!
I found some schurzen I didn’t use on my Stug. I started the disc pattern as a test. Keep in mind these were already painted dk yellow with green pattern. When I do it on the Panther, I’ll paint green, mask, paint brown mask, then spray the dk yellow.
The labels work fine however I found I have to peel the label off the backing then punch each disc one by one [|(]. If punched enmass it’s virtually impossible to peel off the backing. [D)]
Comments, suggestions, hints etc. warmly accepted.
This is going to be good.
I’ll be watching and GOOD LUCK to you Tony the Mutt
Painted the brown.
Masked with a vinyl type of label.
Sprayed the dk. yellow.
Masks removed!
I think in my excitement I rushed the masking of the brown. The vinyl discs performed well, actually too well, you can see the scrapes where I had to use a knife to lift them. The original paper labels were ok on flat surfaces but lifted for some reason at the edges.
The idea has merit and I am going to continue to experiment with different masking material.
Oh BTW the tracks are base coated.
Comments, and or suggestions welcome!
