MY HUGE HAUL!!!

When I went to the Butch Ohare competition, I brought my Lady Be Good with me, I had been talking to some people when aother person aproched me and asked if the model was mine, I said yes and he said he was extreamly impressed, he then went on to tell me that he has a huge collection of unbuilt model aircraft kits that for a while he had been looking to find someone to give them too because he has accepted the fact that he will probably never build them, so he decided to give them to me. Just last weekend I had gone to his house to retrive just a portion of the kits he had. The back of the suberban was filled three B-17 size boxes high and covered the entire floor with model kits. I have since took a count as to how many I have and I came up with 73!!!, only 73 of about 200-300 kits left for me to take back. here is the roster as to the kits i have acuired.

man,…

I am torn between “congrats” and “you suck” [}:)]

I am green with envy. That’s a great haul.

Regards, Rick

Outstanding ! the god of plastic is generous.

Wow, that is the mother lode. Some great kits in there. Now the question is…which do you start on?

Tigerman, as it is I have started a monogram P-39 aircobra, that kit is a little gem that I think the community has forgotten. But I think I am set on kits for at least 20 years[:D]

Nice, very nice! Can we do a deal???

Im not shure about a deal because the catch to this whole thing is that I have to build them or esle I could not have them, but thanks for the complement[:D]

Echoing Hatewall’s sentiments…

Talk about gold at the end of the rainbow, thats great. Hope you have many happy years with your pot of gold. Semper Fi, mike

got alot of nice kits there. been looking for several of those. id say that you should be set for awhile!!

want my address? Nice catch!

Yeah- I think I like Hatewall’s answer too [;)] Congrats-- your dio was an attention-grabber to say the least!

Oh you lucky dog!!! If only that could happen here. The best ones are the Lancasters and the AT6s. However, I would also wish for both the JU188A and the 188E in 1/48th scale. Congrats on the stash.

Splash32- Id say the best ones are the Visible B-17G, the Avro Lancasters, P-80s, the B-17F, and the 2 B-29s.

Wowzers, congrats on the incredible luck!
Now do that good samaritan proud and get all those kits built in about 2-3 years!

I have a request at least as far as what to build next goes. I would very much like to see a B-17 get the sort of treatment your Lady Be Good got. Man the pictures of that build are really inspiring. Otherwise I think a P-61 would be a great build up as well. I don’t see many top shelf versions of that kit and since I ave one of those in the stash begging to be built well we could consider it motivation for me. Anyway congrats on the haul.

grrrrrrrrrr [banghead][censored][|(][:P]

That’s sweet! What a cool thing to have happen.

I am really curious (just to see how quickly others build) realistically how long do you think it will take you to build just the 73 you have gotten so far? I figure it would take me 10+ years if I built at my top speed.

Vintage,
I see that you are going to need help building all those wonderful kits…I’ll pack my bags in an instant…

okay, so I am jealous. Sweet haul
