Oh yeah
i have seen a photo in Concords Tank warfare in Korea a photo of a M26 with the WW2 tracks in Inchon
Actually the older Chaffee (kit 244) was a post-war Chaffee with T85E1 tracks. The one just (re)released from Italeri (M-24 Early kit #6431 ) has the proper T72 tracks appropriate for the Korean War era
Thanks for the list, Caveman
Bingo, that’s what I was getting at when I was explaining where a lot of the initial Pershings came from that were used in Korea… they were literaly scrounged from where ever they could find them… “as is” in whatever condition they were in when they we’re “retired” after WW2.
Looks like there is a lot of excitement for this build! Looking forward to it! [8D]
How is the Italeri Chaffee kit. Seems like everyone’s leaning towards the Pershing and thought I’d try something different.
There is a review in the thread here from PMMS. the review says it is decent and is one of their better kits. http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/vehicles/italeri/it6431.htm
Personally, I think I am doing the M-46 from Operation Ripper with the cool tiger paint job.
There are some FSM back issues dealing with Korean war tanks:

Yeah, I was thinking about waiting until the summer to start the build. Oh, and anything from Korea is okay; tanks, planes, even ships. I just figured most people would want to do tanks.

Well, just post the sign up and tell us the dates and parameters and we are all set. If we are including the flyboys, we’ll need to get this over to the GB forum
Sign me up for the Dragon 1/35th M-46.
PS- you might want to add the dates in the thread title so it shows on the main forum
I think if you ‘official’ it up with dates and rules and stuf, then e-mail Jeff he will put it in the sticky at the top of the forum page. That will make it easier to find. And put me in with the Italeri Chaffee.
Put me in for either a M36B2 Jackson or a Sherman variant.
We still doing this?
Looks like it’s on for June 25 - Feb 1 2006
excellent!
Thanks Ted
Here’s another.

I may be in on this. Depending on what else is going on. I am leaning towards a Chaffee. I just wish there was some other offering other than Italeri.
Ted
Ted- the tracks on the chaffee stink. Typical Italeri rock hard rubber bands. Other than that, it isn’t a bad kit at all. Not a Tamiya, but it is pretty decent. If you buy AM tracks, make sure you get the T72 tracks and not the lter rubber padded ones
But wouldn’t the use of AM tracks be cheating?
